Hello. Dreamweaver no longer supports CMS via Adobe Catalyst and I just want the most basic CMS. Oh bugger it, I will just have to take off to learn this modx and that is it, but if someone can give a few tips I will buy them a few beers (costa del sol).

I need the simplest cms and that is it!

Better than some tips, I sent you by email, a starting guide pdf document for Evo.
Otherwise some tutorials (for Revo or Evo) exist on http://codingpad.maryspad.com/

Re-upload your Manager files, making sure to preserve your config.inc.php file.

                Hi experts

I am totally new to modx (and you might have anticipated by seeing my post in this thread)... I wanted to know whether modx support installation in Apache on Windows. I am using Apache 2.2, PHP 5.2.6 and MySQL 5.0.51b on Windows XP (my personal computer). Today I started to setup a site using modx 2.0.4-pl2 on the above mentioned platform, but it is always showing an error - "503 Error. Site temporarily unavailable."

I can access my other PHP sites inside the same server without any issues. Can anybody throw a ray of light to this so that I can try working on it.

                Thanks in advance

I, and many other MODx users, use XAMPP on Windows so it’s definitely possible. The problem might be MySQL 5.0.51 which is known to be extremely buggy. The 503 error is unusual. Is it a clean install of MODx in an empty directory?

                    Hi BobRay

Thanks for the response... it was a fresh installation and I was using it for the first time. I am not sure whether it is a DB problem, because I didn’t get any links/options to continue with the website (I am not sure whether the DB is being connected in the initial phase of installation). As you had suggested, let me try to change the MySQL version and see whether there is any hope. I will keep posted on the development

                    Thank you once again

Also, "Can modx run on *choose your Server OS*? Is another.

in reply to that question i believe that modx can indeed run on choose your server os. most servers will work with a modx.
