Are these functions from the SMF codebase?

No - I’ve grepped the whole lot. It appears they don’t exist in the bridge, SMF or MODx

Interesting indeed... I wonder if they really do have a purpose
Just a compatibility question :
Is the bridge is compatible with MODx 095 (can’t update) and SMF 1.1.4.
If not, what SMF version I can use ?
Thanks for your help
Excellent resource! Installed and configured quickly and easily. Wonderful!
Ok the question I originally asked was total bodunk and I found the answer by viewing the code of my Settings.php for SMF. Basically I couldn’t figure out what my SMF’s directory was.. well this is solved simply by looking in the forementioned file.
Now my question is, how do I get a usergroup to automatically assign itself to all users who registered on SMF? For example I want anyone who registers on the forums to get updated to be "Registered User" on my site so they can comment on staff blogs, news posts ect.
It would be nice if the synchronizer could sync passwords. Easier said than done, I know.

You could alter the smf_members table, changing the ID_GROUP’s default value to that of the new Membergroup ID...
