I am going to have to look into what’s going on. In the meantime, I personally have rolled back to EA 0.3.1 and it is running great!

By default the "Compressor" is disabled and EA 0.3.2 use edit_area_full.js and not edit_area_compressor.php ! So check your plugin configuration parameters ie : "compressor" (false/true)...

          Gildas,

Thanks for the post! I was hoping you’d see these recent posts. I have confirmed that the compressor is NOT used via the parameters, but am not convinced that it is not still be invoked somewhere. My JS errors indicate compressor, even when I don’t define the compressor parameter and leave the default plugin to decide.

I may try renaming the compressor.php file to see if it totally breaks, then work backwards from there...

I just migrated a site from my development hosting account to my client’s production account (we are both using the same host (lunarpages) so server configs should be the same).

on my development site, i had no problem with editarea working properly. however, the production site will not run editarea and firebug shows the following error whenever i try to access a snippet:

                ’editAreaLoader is not defined’

i have tried deleting the existing plugin and reinstalling the code in the manager (as well as deleting and replacing the files in the plugins directory) but to no avail.

has anyone had this type of issue? could it in anyway be related to the method that i migrated the site?

here are the steps i took:

                • load database to production host
load web files to production host
                  modify database connections in config
                  modify configs in manager

                thanks

                  @bmcneill

Did you manage to solve this problem?

I also get the ’editAreaLoader is not defined’ message when trying out this very needed plugin.

Anyonle else with the same problem?

i did not get it solved. and it seemed to be only on this one installation for some reason. i moved a development installation on lunarpages server to my client’s account (which is lunarpages server as well) and it does not work. very, very strange. i have not seen this on any other installations of any other sites i have done either.

Ok, I don’t think there is any idea for me trying to get it to work on this server then... strange problem...

Anyway, thank you for your answer! smiley
