    Ok... Something must be wrong. I am on my way into the hosp right now, and I probably won’t be back until tomorrow afternoon, but I will look at it then. I probably forgot to include a files or something stupid. For now, here are some manual instructions.

    unzip the zip that you downloaded. (i think it’s called MODx_Resource_Wizard_1.8.5.zip or something).
    open the folder MODx_Resource_Wizard_1.8.5_en_fr_es.

    Open the install folder.

    move the folder "wizard" to [MODx_Installation]/assets/modules
    if that folder already exits on your server, overwrite it with this "wizard" folder.

    back to your pc...
    Open the folder "includes" (in the install folder).
    copy the contents of "wizard.tpl" to a new module called "MODx Resource Wizard" (or update your current MRW module with the contents of this file).

    Under the configuration tab, put:
    &useLang=Language File;string;english

    in the Module configuration: input.

    I will look into a REAL solution, but this module was more of a proof of concept. The foundation required for a truly integrated installer is not going to be in place in the core until after 0.9.5 release, so until then, lets see what we can get the MRW to do!

      I have followed the directions in the installation of modx resource wizard but it would not install. What is the problem? all i can see are the folders when i log on to http://mysite.com/install

      what appears are the following lines:
      Warning: wizIn::wizIn(../manager/includes/config.inc.php) [function.wizIn]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/tag86/public_html/install/install/index.php on line 23

      Fatal error: wizIn::wizIn() [function.require]: Failed opening required ’../manager/includes/config.inc.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/tag86/public_html/install/install/index.php on line 23

      Please help!

        Looks like you’ve got a path problem there, I see /home/tag86/public_html/install/install/index.php when it should be /home/tag86/public_html/install/index.php. Move the real install folder up into the root public/html folder.

          modx resource wizard has been installed. however, it does not seem to work. I tried installing "skingraft.zip" but I keep getting this error message:
          Evaluation of your resource.
          This does not appear to be a valid MODx Resource Wizard package.

          susan, please help. i like to install your skingraft packages as soon as i get the skingraft installed using the modx resource wizard

              I’ve got the same error message saying it’s not the correct package ..

              But I also get that message when i try to upload a ’skin’ template in skingraft .. it’s not a zip file ..

              Could it be that my webhost has something not installed perhaps ?

                Both SkinGraft and MODx Resource Wizard use the pclZip.lib.php library. This library is dependent on zlib support being compiled with PHP. you can check to see if it is compiled with zlib support using phpinfo().

                If your server can not, or you are not allowed to work with zip files, this module (and skingraft) will fail.

                  Hey Scotty,

                  I do have Zlib support, and am still getting the error. I wanted to try your manual way, but I am unable to overwrite the wizard folder with my ftp program because it was created as through the automatic install, which is created by the apache user instead of the ftp user. How do I create a quick php script to do the uninstall of that folder?

                    as a snippet, you could try
                    	function recursive_rdir($dir) {
                    	  	if ($handle = opendir("$dir")) {
                    	   		while (false !== ($item = readdir($handle))) {
                    	     		if ($item != "." && $item != "..") {
                    	       			if (is_dir("$dir/$item")) {
                    	         			$this->priv_rdir("$dir/$item");
                    	       			} else {
                    	         			unlink("$dir/$item");
                    	       			}
                    	     		}
                    	   		}
                    	   	closedir($handle);
                    	   	rmdir($dir);
                    		}
                    	}
                    $delete = recursive_rdir($modx->config['base_path'].'assets/modules/wizard');

                    that should remove the ’wizard’ directory and all it’s contents.
