An installer can install anything it can install, and an installer can even install an installer, can’t it! grin grin

          Ha! LOL.

That’s the idea anyway. Maybe I will design version 2.1 to install itself with out you even downloading it.

Thanks to Kylejae for finding this *bug*

If you are using XAMPP in your local testing environment, It may not be compiled with the necessary binaries for extracting zip archives, which the MODx Resource Wizard is dependent on. As such, this module may not work on your local testing servers. Almost all hosting services capable of supporting a MODx installation will be complied correctly to support the MODx Resource Wizard.

really good job. And I hope this module will be added to the MODx release.

I think a must have feature to add is the a language file to make translation. So This module could be used by all the non-english community.

version 1.5 will be posted tonight or tomorrow morning, depending on how many things are on my wife’s list of "Shit I need to do".
                  It will include:
auto installer: upload /install/ to your root, and navigate there in your browser. Presto! installed.
bug fixes: folders created by unzip function were not being deleted on upgrades of tvs and chunks.
interface: cleaned up the interface, more consistency.
lang file: (?) maybe. let’s see how motivated I get.

Version 1.7 (later this week, maybe?) will have a modxpkg.zip creator (for resource developers). you add your files, name it, paste the resource code, and the Resource Wizard makes a modxpkg formated zip for use with the Resource Wizard and saves it to your desktop.

Version 2.0 (soon I hope?) will include an auto updater.  It will check in at my opensourcelab site and see if a newer version is availble.  If one is, it will ask the user if they want to upgrade. If yes, the Resource Wizard will download the latest version and run the install to upgrade itself.

                  later

I Updated to version 1.7. Get it from the link in the first post.

                    *BIG CHANGE*
the MODx Resource Wizard now installs itself. Upload the /install/ directory to the root of your MODx site and browse to http://yoursite.url/install/. It’s really that easy. If you already installed this resource, this will upgrade you to version 1.7!

                    *OTHER CHANGES*
Inter-facelift, bug fixes, added language file (/lang/english.lang.php) please help translate! added modxpkg creation tools to help developers create modxpkg’s from their resources. see "help" on the first page. (that’s right, it has built in documentation. You can view the help file any time!).

I REALLY!!! need help with the language files if you are bilingual and would like to help make the resource wizard universal and language independant, please let me know. I will pm you the language files and we can talk about the setup.

                    later

                      Good job,

I will test it as soon as possible. And I will translate the language file.
