Alright. I tried the manual install and I am still getting the error that "This does not appear to be a valid MODx Resource Wizard package." Here is the info from phpinfo() about zlib support. I tried this with two Wizard modxpkg samples, and keep getting the same error.
ZLib Support enabled
Compiled Version 1.2.1.2
Linked Version 1.2.1.2
Directive Local Value Master Value
zlib.output_compression Off Off
zlib.output_compression_level -1 -1
zlib.output_handler no value no value

haha jesster .. maybe it’s our version :S
how do i work on the css? things are getting a bit messy.
Well, I have tried to recreate these errors on 5 of my remote hosting servers, and two different local testing servers and I have not been able to get the same errors when using a modxpkg.zip file. I will look into other possible causes for this not working in your environment, but it seems that it is probably situational to your servers. Looking at the download page for this module, it has been downloaded 180 times, given that some of those must be repeat downloads from the folks who could not get it working, then at least 80-100 of these must be installed and working correctly without problems. I will have to learn a bit more about how Apache handles permissions, because I am sure that it is related. I am sorry I don’t have a solution for you right now.

All good man ..
Thanks for your help so far!
Scotty,
I was able to do a quick code hack and get the Resource Wizard to work. In the file "wizard.class.php" on lines 134-141, I commented out this:
/*if ($this->resource_pkgmime !== "application/zip") {
$this->evalErrArray = array(''=>$main_button);
$this->evalErr = "<h2>$not_valid</h2>\n";
$this->evalErr .= $this->wizard_buildForm();
$this->evalErr .= $this->wizard_getFoot($this->evalErrArray);
unlink($this->eval_path.$this->resource_pkgfile) or die('Could not remove upload from '.$this->eval_path.$this->resource_pkgfile);
return $this->evalErr;
}*/
I then installed SkinGraft, and everything worked fine. That leads me to believe that the conditional is always returning true, resulting in the false error message. Now by no means would I recommend this to anyone as a permanent solution, as this conditional would be important if you weren’t uploading a .zip file.

You open up the css file in a text editor and change things. To get an idea of what things to change, study a "view source" of the offending page, and determine exactly which element’s styling needs to be tweaked.
the skingraft has been installed thru resource wizard.
however, i do not see it the way the screenshot shows what skingraft should look like.
i don’t see the preview.
and the worst part is, i could not install sg.zip files with skingraft.
how do i correct this?
