Help Test the NEW Discuss/MODX-based forums for Launch

It’s very minimalistic, but nicely done. The spacing fixes help a good deal as well. My only two complains are the missing next/prev links (http://bugs.modx.com/issues/4630) and I feel there could be a splash more color at times.

A color change to show what boards have new posts at the top level perhaps?

what I do not like is all that type in gray!!

it is really hard to read and browse, my eyes cannot
track down the subjects and the like with so much gray.
When it is black, the line of type serves as its own divider to
read fast down a list...

PS: are the signatures gone?

The light gray is not good on old eyes.

Otherwise looking good.

Here’s what I see; FF 3.6.19 OS X.

I live the layout an minimalistic look and feel, but really think the general list is is a bit well... boring
The gray titles feel a bit lost to me, maybe make them green (the green from the MODX community logo on top?)

Maybe I just miss the happy MODX green, but a bit more color would be my vote.

Couple of questions :-

1. Can we upload and attach files to posts?

2. The existing forum page has the ’help, search, profile, messages, members’ menu bar. Are we keeping this somewhere? I find the profile one that
lists your last posts particularly useful.

i see some alignement problem on top and there’s a problem with some words being cut (accents support?)

We’ve created a new project section in Redmine for specific bugs and feature requests related to the look and feel of the forums called MODX Forums. This is separate from the Discuss forum. If you are unsure about where to file it, put it in the MODX Forums project and we’ll make sure it’s in the right place.

Please keep sharing your thoughts and ideas. Please make sure you poke around, use as many of the actions as possible and report any problems. This will both ensure the forums will be fairly solid when they go live and also make Discuss a great forum tool.

For some reason I can’t login to put in a feature request, so will do it here

When you show unread posts and then click on one it takes you to the very last post on that thread, this means that you then have to scroll right up or even back pages, I would prefer it to work like the current forum where clicking the title takes you to the first post or clicking the page number takes you to the first post on that page.

Paul, when you say you couldn’t login, could you provide me details at [email protected] or PM me. If there are sight issues I would like them resolved.
