Some more observations:

(5)
Same like BobRay's (New Replies).

(6)
If not formatted as code, MODx tags and other pieces of code are swallowed. Example:
Here is a tag: [[*pagetitle]] and here a piece of code: rel="xyz"
Written in normal text it becomes
Here is a tag: [[*pagetitle]] and here a piece of code: rel="xyz"
and as quote it becomes
Here is a tag: [[*pagetitle]] and here a piece of code: rel="xyz"

(7)
In the RTE the button for typewriter style is missing. It was very helpful to mark special words in normal text.

(8 )
You can not use the Font Face button instead, because that does not offer a choice of fonts (what you would expect) but only wraps the marked text by
[ font = Verdana ].... [ /font ]. (Is the user asked to edit the font name by hand??)

(Here I had to insert blanks to make it show up.
Trying to format it as code you get
....
This is just a terrible nuisance.

(9)
In the preview the thread title is broken into short lines.

(10)
The dark grey background of the preview is bad for readability. (Apart from that, it's just ugly).

See (4) above. [ed. note: ottogal last edited this post 15 years, 2 months ago.]

Ladies and gents could I suggest you post any issues regarding the forum to http://bugs.modx.com/projects/discuss-skin/issues this will make sure they are picked up on by the dev team.

The same goes for feature requests.

Posting issues in this post runs the risk of them being either missed completely or forgotten by the dev team.

I submitted this as a bug (http://bugs.modx.com/issues/5600) but it's been dismissed and the suggestion is to always use <code> tags. But every forum newcomer is going to make the same mistake over and over (and I've done it a few times without realising)... I still think it's worth fixing...

Preview *was* working and styled very nicely but the css seems to be broken at the moment. Have filed a bug report here: http://bugs.modx.com/issues/5621

Fair enough if the dev team decided that that's how they want it to work then that's how it is.

We're definitely working on a lot of bugs. We've been out of town for the past few days at a company-wide meeting, but I can assure you we'll be ironing out the issues in the next week or so. Thanks guys.

Things are looking a lot better. smiley

"New Replies to My Posts" is showing me only a single post, regardless of how many replies I have. It's a step in the right direction, though. wink
