hi nice work first .... i try to figure out why i have a delay displaying images on the slider...

    http://www.famidelh.com/index.php?id=1

if any one can advice i will appreciated... thanks

You have your Nivo timer set to 8000 milliseconds so it will interval from one image to the next every 8 seconds, change this time so you can control how fast it changes if you want it fast lower it.

What browser are you using? If it’s IE then that is your problem IE has performance issues with javascript especially anything advanced like NivoSlider.

It’s working fine for me so I honestly don’t know what you’re referring to, sorry.

Hi thanks for this nice package.
I have installed it on revo 2.1.3. and created my demo slide. I’m able to see the slide show on Mac, but with Safari 5.1 and Chrome I can’t see any transitions effect.
This Firefox 5 and Opera 10 everything is ok.

          Thank you

Can both of you post links to these so I can see it?

I am looking into it, I know chrome has some issues but I think the problem is phpThumb, I will have to modify how NivoGallery works so it might take a while before I release the next update, I already have thumbnails working smiley just need to sort out some pesky bugs and this issue you guys are mentioning.

I am also working on porting prettyPhoto the same way NivoGallery works into MODx and possibly this new one I found as well

            Thanks for the feedback.

Right now I have NS on my home page: www.following-sea.com

              Lucy,

I see what you mean, I think I have an idea of whats causing it and I will be working on proving my theory in the next few weeks to see if it solves the issue.

I will post here when I test my theory and let you guys know if it works or not.

              Thanks again.

Well tested my theory and the problem is indeed nivoGallery can’t handle the dynamic images created by phpThumb, I will see if I can figure out a way of getting this to work... this might take a while.

If I can’t get it to work with gallery I might need to recreate nivoGallery with MIGx or something custom, not sure I will post more details as I figure out WTF I’m going to do now.

                Thanks for your feedback.

But if that’s true... then why does it work in FF and IE?

                  Lucy,

I honestly don’t know the answer, I guess both of these browsers work differently with dynamicly generated images.

If you use absolute images with nivoGallery it will work perfectly in chrome and safari.

I tried using absolute paths using [[++site_url]] but that didn’t work either, and using MIGx takes away the ease of managing your galleries.

I need to figure out if its possible to use getResources to get all images in a gallery so I can test another theory and see if that fixes it.

So in the meantime nivoGallery will still have issues with Chrome and Safari sad

                    [UPDATE]

Ok so the issue is definitely the way Chrome and Safari handle dynamic images, after talking to my good friend Mark Hamstra via Skype I made a few changes to nivoGallery and the transitions are working perfectly in both of these browsers but now I have to figure out how to get them re-sizing based on the template variables in MODx again.

Good news is we found the problem, bad news is now another problem has shown it’s head and has to be dealt with but we’re making progress smiley

Thanks for all your feedback and support Lucy, I will let you know when I’m ready to release the next update so you can help beta testing it.

Would you like to beta test prettyGallery as well?

                      Thanks again.
