I understand smiley Thanks! but in case if i want to use 2 galleries on the same page? Is it possible?

Artemioz, the only way you can use 2 galleries on the same page without causing any conflicts is by using an iFrame for the second gallery you want to load, I have tested it and it works perfectly.

    Hope this helps smiley

Are you using any other javascript framework like mootools that can cause conflicts with jQuery or any css resets etc. I seems like something is causing NivoGallery to have issues, first it was modernizr so if your using anything else it would be helpful if you post what else you are using.

      Thanks.

I just tested in a page with no other scripts besides the ones packaged with NG, and it’s still happening. It consistently happens if I leave the test page open and click over to other browser tabs and then come back to the page with the slider. This is in FF. I’ll test other browsers when I get a chance. So weird eh?

Lucy, I finally managed to see what your talking about it seems like its a Nivo Slider issue. Not sure what to make of this :-/

Did a search and came up with this so I will have to wait and see if it has something to do with Nivo Slider, I will look into it to see if it’s not a css issue.

        Thanks for all your feedback.

You need to install the gallery plugin and create an album as you normally would in gallery.

I’m a new in MODx. I install NG from package manager. I have NG template in list when i create new content, but i don’t have an idea how to create new album. Please post images like "How it’s work" (e.g. Install->Сustomization->Сreate new album->Create new gallery->Publish gallery in your MODx site). Thanks.

additional to nivogallery you will need the extra ’gallery’, documentation is here: http://rtfm.modx.com/display/ADDON/Gallery
For gallery there is a custom-manager-page to create new albums.

alternativly its possible to use MIGX instaed of gallery together with nivogallery.
MIGX is a Template-variable-extra. To create new ’albums’ just create a new resource with a MIGX-TV in its template and add images to MIGX-TV.
                Configuration. See some posts above.
                  -------------------------------

you can buy me a beer, if you like MIGX

Lucy in order to fix this issue you need to update jquery to 1.6.2 currently NivoGallery ships with 1.6.1 so you would ahve to go to the assets/NivoGallery/nivoSlider/scripts folder and replace jquery-1.6.2.min.js with the updated version.

Then you need to go to the nivoScripts chunk and make sure you edit the first line to this.

                    <script type="text/javascript" src="assets/NivoGallery/nivoSlider/scripts/jquery-1.6.2.min.js"></script>

That will fix the disappearing caption issues with all browsers.

I am working on building a site dedicated to NivoGallery with information and tutorials on how to use it so I will hold off on releasing an updated version until I get this done.

So the next update might take a bit longer than expected.

Let me know if you still have any issues.

                    Thanks.
