I guess I know how to do that, thanks! I will try to duplicate TV’s and rename them a little
I hope it will work
As of right now NivoGallery doesn’t support multi-galleries on one page so I really don’t think duplication TVs will work unless you duplicate them all and rename them so they don’t conflict with each other.
Good luck.

I really liked this when I saw it a while back.
I was disappointed to be told that all images must have the same height/width dimensions.
I consider this a weakness of most gallery/slideshow implementations.
It would be okay if Nivo could tolerate at least the height varying.
End users can at least understand keeping one dimension constant.
Thank you, Tom
NivoGallery is meant to be more of a banner rotator than an actual gallery so that is mainly why it only supports a specified width and height, it does allow you to have different gallery sizes on different pages though.
What are you trying to use Nivogallery for I would have to check and see if this can be achieved via javascript using NivoGallery and disabling the width and height TV so it doesn’t conflict, please share a sample if you have one of what you’d like to achieve I’m all for improving NivoGallery.
Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Ben,
I just installed NivoGallery on a brand spankin’ new Revo 2.1.2-pl install and this is the console message I got. Should I worry about the part in red?
Lucy, no you shouldn’t worry about that. Let me know if you have any issues.
Thanks.

Lucy,
If you’re on skype add me ben-marte so I can help you troubleshoot.
I haven’t had these issues you are referring to so I really can’t say what is going on.
The images not resizing is really weird because they should be resizing via inline css not the default.css
Did you install the very first NivoGallery I launched?
If so you needed to uninstall it before upgrading I tried to specify that as best I could on the new installation instructions.
If you did you need to uninstall it and preferably force remove the package altogether then re-install NivoGallery.
The issue will be going back and modifying the pages you had that were using NivoGallery and set their settings again.
It’s preferable if you make any css changes to make them in the style.css file in the NivoSlider folder and not the css files in the themes folder, even though these will all need to be overwritten when upgrading since I did make some changes.
I will be launching another update pretty soon I added thumbnail support to NivoGallery just fine tuning and testing on different versions of Revo.
Thanks for testing and the feedback hopefully we can fix your issues via skype.

Lucy my answers below in bold.

These are my issues/observations:
1. When choosing the width of the image it would be great if the CSS for the .theme-default.slider-wrapper changed to match the new width. It stayed at the 920px width so had to be edited in default.css. This should not be an issue since the way NivoGallery works is applying inline styles to the element which will override the default.css or any other css files for each theme.
2. What will happen to the default.css during an upgrade? I have made several changes so wondering if I’ll need to worry about preserving those? You should make a backup of your css files they all get overwritten when upgrading and I have made a style.css file where you should make any edits if you need to.
3. The caption works at the page load and indefinitely while still on that page, but if I click on another tab (in FF 5.0) and then click back to my page the captions have completely disappeared. Not even a page refresh brings them back. Any idea what is causing this behavior?Try clearing your sites cache, I cannot replicate this issue with any browser and I tested with FF, IE, Chrome, Opera and Safari.
4. When I applied the Nivo template to the page the manager blinked a few times and then went completely white for a moment. When it came back it displayed only web in the resources. It took a few tries to even get the page to save the Nivo template.Cannot replicate this NivoGallery does not affect anything in the manager besides adding the template variables so if you are experiencing issues it can be bugs with 2.1.2
Also, got this error message that coincides with the time I was applying the nivo template to a page.
[2011-07-17 17:17:49] (ERROR @ /connectors/element/propertyset.php) Error caching lexicon topic lexicon/en/core/elementI have no idea what this error is like I said NivoGallery does not alter anything withing MODx manager so not really sure whats going on
5. In the TVs: the Nivo Theme and Nivo transition effects are checkboxes. Pretty sure you meant these to be radio buttons or drop-down with only a single item select? That was the initial way it was supposed to work but MODx 2.0.8 and 2.1.2 work different so I had to select something that would work on all versions of MODx and this was it, just make sure you only make one selection for these categories .
6. Not working at all in IE8. Just spins indefinitely. I’m using CSS PIE so that’s probably a conflict.Seems like csspie is the culprit here because I haven’t had any issues with IE7, IE8 or IE9
I hope that answers some of your questions.

Lucy Thanks again for some more feedback.
Here are my answers.
1. Thanks for catching this I totally overlooked it, it will be fixed for next release.
3. I still cannot replicate this issue you are having so many variables here that it’s going to be really hard to pinpoint what is going on, are you still on a localhost or is this on a webhost?
4. This is yet another issues I cannot replicate on 2.0.8 or 2.1.2, really don’t know what to say, sorry.
Gallery always takes a bit to load IDK why but it does it really depends on how many images you have in your album add to the fact that if NivoGallery is resizing your images on the fly as well then it will take a bit longer while it generates the images. So it’s best to upload the images at the size you want to use to avoid having NivoGallery resize them.
Thanks for your feedback it really helps as you can see to help me see what I missed or overlooked.
