1) rename build.config.sample.php to build.config.sample
I think it should be:
1) rename build.config.sample.php to
build.config.php
Thanks for the quick steps!

:) This newest revision is slick!
404 not found! Hmm. I’m running MAMP. Everything went smoothly until I put in the URL: http://localhost:8888/MAMP/htdocs/modx097/setup/ - Not Found
The requested URL /MAMP/htdocs/modx097/setup/ was not found on this server.>
Apache/2.0.59 (Unix) PHP/5.2.1 DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.0.59 OpenSSL/0.9.7l Server at localhost Port 8888]
Anything anyone can think of off-hand?
Thanks. I’m really looking forward to this release!
Did you follow the
instructions and rename build.config.sample.php to build.config.php, edit it with proper info and then execute the command "php transport.core.php" from the command line before trying to go to the setup ?
I have installed 0.9.7 with MAMP 1.7.1 /OS X 10.5.1, with no such issues...
Nothing comes to mind, except check the changeset maybe you downloaded a broken rev ?

No, the MAMP/htdocs is part of the file path (/Applications/MAMP/htdocs), not the URL. The web root starts in the htdocs directory. If you’re using the pro version you can have your web root wherever you want it.
ok i exported from SVN, then built it, then tried to install. nb: script is using much memory so you should set your php.ini like this:
max_execution_time = 360 ; Maximum execution time of each script, in seconds
max_input_time = 120 ; Maximum amount of time each script may spend parsing request data
memory_limit = 32M
or you’ll get white screen on install step

I rename the build.config.sample.php and entered my database info, but I don’t know how to execute the command "php transport.core.php" from the command line
You can just type localhost/_build/transport.core.php in your browser’s address window (unless the site is in a subdirectory, then you’ll have to add the subdirectory name after localhost).
Or, you can shell out to the OS, navigate to the _build directory and type php transport.core.php (this will only work if the php client is in the include path or if you give the full path to the php client on the command line).
