So... the Kiwee forums are no more due to too many people asking for help.

I got MAMP working and MODx installed. Everything was swell. Ready to start experimenting. Peachy.
Then, I installed Kiwee and it broke everything. I had to delete the whole MAMP folder.

I recommend Opencart for consideration. www.opencart.com.

I can post a link if there is interest when my small shop goes live in about a week.

      Yes please wink

If you’re using opencart, it’s not really part of modx, right? It would look more like www.yourdomain.com/opencart wouldn’t it? Different database and everything, right?

Foxycart is a good alternative but it can’t substitute or replace a built-in eCommerce module that allows end-users (our clients) to easily update/add products and categories, even my client willing to pay for the monthly fee - I know, I know, theorically we can setup anything we want from Modx by using TVs, Ditto and so on, but this is not an presumption to get more average Joe to join the geek party. Unless, of course, Modx team doesn’t want average Joe like me grin

I’d disagree about being difficult to set up a few TVs as a category and/or other product attributes. If you can fill out a simple form with clear labels, then for smaller catalogs (say under 250 products) I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend using MODx pages as products, and your container folder structure handles your categories just fine.

I had the same problem with Kiwee, my recent experience with Magento makes me wonder if it’s mySQL incompatibility issue, as I vaguely remember the errors messages are quite similar. It may need at least mySQL v4.1.2 or higher.

Thanks, Chinesedream! I will save myself the effort of trying again... especially since I now see they’ve stopped Kiwee development. Probably doesn’t even work with 0.9.6 anyway... Magneto? Like the name. Guess I’ll google it.

As I have embedded the cart in a regular MODx document, the cart url is not shown to the user. But you are correct, the cart resides in its own directory and has its own tables (or database). I have not integrated any tables between the systems, but I expect it to be fairly easy to do. I don’t have any users on this MODx site, so I don’t need anyone to log into MODx. The customers log into the cart from a MODx document.

I will be back with a link soon.

                Cheers,

Sorry for my english and repeat topic.

                  I can’t install this module..

Everything it’s OK when I installing module, but in my Menager Panel I have
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ’}’ in /home/darko/public_html/assets/snippets/shoppingCart/kiwee.class.php on line 21
                  I can’t resolve this problem.

Maybe i´m too stupid... but i hav a strange problem:

I´m in Kiwee Products page and i´m adding a new Product. I have 2 products now.
Next think i do is showing the catalog page (that one installed by the kiwee installer 4008) ... and there´s NO produts showed there.
I looked for the answer for my problem and i found some info that made me think that i need a modx page for every product i add. But i can´t create that pages in a way that the catalog page shows them.

What do i need to do in order to show the produts i create in the catalog page (and then view/edit the product page itself) huh?

                      Thanx
