Not without hacking the core.. There’s no system event that editArea can plug into. You would have to make substantial changes to manager/actions/files.dynamic.php

Does anyone know how to change the color used to highlight selected text? or at least how to remove the line highlighting.
With Safari 3.1.2 and Firefox 3.0.8 on my mac, the color of the selected text (D8EBFA) is almost invisible in contrast to the highlighted line color.
I’ve experimented with both the the syntax presets, as well as the plugin’s .css file, but I really can’t find how to change this, and its driving me bat-sh!t crazy.
@featherodd I think this is the same question I answered back a page in this thread:

Maybe this should be a sticky for Mac users.. it might also be worth looking up the original plugin to see if any recent updates have solved this.. in which case we should update the MODx plugin.

Have you confirmed this to work in FF3 on Mac?

I realy like this plugin,
Could the selected text color be changed? On my imac the selected color(D8EBFA) is almost the same as the line selected color(E1F2F9)
its almost not indistinguishable from each other.
I use ff3.x on osx(mac)
Dimmy,
This issue has been fixed with the latest release (
EditArea plugin v0.5.0)!
It will be available in MODx Extras as soon as it has bee approved by the System Administrators...

love this plugin but having issues with syntax highlighting... the highlighted text does not align with the "greyed-out" text underneath and aligns over the line numbers. screenshot attached and any help would be greatly appreciated!
