I have put an email address in tools/configuration/user/ email address but it says there that this is for:
"Here you can specify the e-mail address used when sending users their usernames and passwords"
but anyway i have put my email in there and still the contact form doesn’t work....
Did you test you can send mails from that server?
René
are you testing on a local server or an remote server? Sometimes on local server the firewall will not let the email work.
Also, as nightsignals suggested, make sure you have mail() available on your server.
no it’s just hosted with a company, not my own server. how do i check they have ()mail option available?
If your mail() function does not work, you might try this modification I made to eForm that uses Swiftmailer.

This version is for PHP 4.x installs.

That looks fine so far. Did you use my script? If that didn’t send mail, ask your tech support to look into it.
René
hi i haven’t tried the script so far, i just wanted to check with you if the normal contact form should be working or not from that php out that my host has given the link to. i’m a bit worried things aren’t as they should be, do you think i should be complaining to my host, and if so what should i say as they don’t support 3rd party cms scripts and stuff.
or do i just give up and use your script?
My script is not meant to be used instead of eForm, it’s meant to narrow down the problem. We still don’t know if the mail() function works or not. That’s what you need to figure out first, before contacting tech support of your host.
