I’ve been having a problem in 0.9.6 RC1 and now RC2 with editing the values of TV’s.
The default value, blank or not is over riding any value I assign page by page.
I’ve checked the DB and some values I changed a while ago are there but no new ones, also if I try to edit one now the default value overwrites it.
I’ve got round it by editing the DB direct.
Is it me or is this an issue?

Davidm that helped a lot, i was suffering from a reversal of your situation.

I had the right connection charset for what i wanted but the wrong DB charset-latin1, still we live and learn. Different problem but the same solution? Something like that...

        Thanks

I have posted regarding this issue in the past, but it seemed likely that as of 096 RC2, the TinyMCE issue would be resolved...Only it wasn’t sad Unfortunately, I am still experiencing a UNIQUE issue with TinyMCE not running. In other words, they aren’t specific to 096 RC2, but also, 096 RC2 didn’t solve them sad

Recap: The TinyMCE error seems to be a rare occurrence (not specific to the RC2 distro)

I am receiving JavaScript errors and the editor NEVER loads.

I have tried completely re-installing, clearing cache/cookies/session, anything I can think of...and I still get the error! What the heck could have gone wrong? I noticed the issue after a local copy of the site was moved to create a remote copy. (Windows -> Unix) ...the file structure looks correct, I am getting JS errors in the manager, however.

Also, Very minimal, but in FF2, the login button seems to escape the bounds, causing wrapping of the copyright text. This is likely due to the new "Year Ranges" (possibly white-space:nowrap or adjust the width?)

          NOTES:
          - This appears to be related to Forgot Manager Login plugin being disabled in the manager.
          - I have ran the upgrade process 2 times, and now I have Three Forgot Manager Login plugins present, 2 of them disabled. When did disabled dupes start getting added in place of overriding existing?

There’s likely going to be some changes to how the config files are written, so it’ll be necessary to re-run the installer.

              :(

NOTE: I am NOT on a MediaTemple GS (GridServer)

I have been working on a site for some time now, only recently updating to 096 RC2. I have even used 096 RC2 for a couple of days with no weird behavior...until now.

I found myself browsing through the site in need of updating document content for most of my documents. QuickEdit would be perfect for the job so I can quickly make the modification, test the newly rendered changes, and then move on...too bad QuickEdit plugin was disabled by me from earlier.

I jumped into /manager and tried enabling the plugin, only it force-logged me out when I tried to commit the change. I had to repeat my last few steps, and then finally QuickEdit was active again. Only now, I am getting seemingly random (and quite frequent) manager logouts! sad

...it can be as easy as trying to view the contents of a container in the tree, viewing the contents of a plugin, or even saving document content edits...then BAM! ...I get logged out when trying to perform the action huh Everything seemed just Fine until I tried playing with disabled QuickEdit plugin sad ...so, I tried disabling the QuickEdit plugin again, only now the plugin is disabled (as it was before), but my manager session keeps getting logged out.

I have tried clearing cache/cookies/session, closing all browsers, then trying again, etc... all with no luck.

When did the "you can’t stay logged in for long" bandit escape?

Are you sure your server has not been modified lately to add mod_security? Some of that behavior sounds like it may be related to PHP or javascript being posted; otherwise, I’m at a loss to reproduce...anyone else seeing anything similar?

It is a dedicated box. Mod_Security was already enabled...however, I am disabling via /manager/.htaccess

It was the weirdest thing. A co-worker was watching me as I continued to get logged out, one after another. Oddly, it then seemed to correct itself, and I wasn’t logged out for the remainder of the evening. I will be sure to notate if it occurs again.

                  Thx,

                    UPDATE:

So, I started working on the site this morning, everything functioning as usual. As soon as I "got into my groove" and was promptly updating one page to the next, sure enough I was force-logged out again....damn, and right after some hearty changes that I didn’t have saved! lipsrsealed

It’s happened 2 or 3 times so far, and I am not doing anything other than logging in, browsing via DocTree, and editing the content, then Save.

I am upgrading to RC3 as we speak, who knows...

                      MIke,
What version of php/mysql/apache is it running? Random problems make not a lot of sense.
