    Just upgraded from 1417 with a file downloaded on Sep27 and couldn’t even open the manager because style.php was missing from the MODx theme. I got round this by creating an empty style.php file.

    Ed

    I can confirm this - ’media/style/MODx/style.php’ is missing from MODx theme. However, it is present in two other themes - MODxGreen and MODxLight.

      I have create a user with some rights in the front office.
      He can’t identify him. In fact, I have test the same for me (with my admin count) : no identification too shocked
      Sure I have cookies enabled and I have no problem to connect me in the back office.

      What can be this very strange and critical bug?

        Now I can’t connect to in the manager too! grin
        Warning: include_once(media/style//style.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/modx95/manager/index.php on line 175

        Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening ’media/style//style.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’/var/www/modx95/manager/includes/’) in /var/www/modx95/manager/index.php on line 175
        Sure I have search the line 175 include_once "media/style/".$manager_theme."/style.php"; and remplace it by:
        include_once "media/style/".$manager_theme."style.php";

        I have create the folder style in /assets/media and the file style.php

          It should be something like this:
          media/style/MODxLight/style.php
          The $manager_theme represents a folder in the manager/media/style folder. You may have to manually edit the manager_theme field in the system_settings table to reflect an existing theme folder.

            I’m also suddenly getting this:
            Warning: include_once(media/style//style.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\localpath\mysite.com\manager\index.php on line 175

            Warning: include_once() [function.include]: Failed opening 'media/style//style.php' for inclusion (include_path='C:/path/manager/includes/') in C:\path\manager\index.php on line 175

            I have *not* changed the MODxLight template in manager, and it has worked for two days without problems until now. Was changing name in the admin account, and then I had to relogin, and then this problem occured.

            Tried to change manager\index.php line 175 from "media/style/".$manager_theme."/style.php"; to "media/style/MODxLight/style.php";
            If I do so I can login to manager, but there is no styling (css) or pictures so it doesn’t look very nice! Also manager takes forever to load when "hard coding" it to media/style/MODxLight/style.php.

            I have a friend also testing beta 3, and he got this problem several times, reinstalled, worked for a while, then same problem again. (Did call him an idiot, now I guess I’m an idiot too!)

            EDIT: I moved all files in media/style/MODxLight to media/style and now everything works both when I "hard code" to "media/style/MODxLight/style.php"; or using original file. Don’t know why though... And in manager it still says MODxLight as manager theme, but pics are loaded from like <img src="media/style/images/icons/web_users.gif"...> and css from media/style/.
            I’ve changed so many thing back and forth, I don’t know what I’m doing any more! smiley

              PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! I don’t want to see another post in this thread about the missing styles/themes or saving manager users and no longer seeing the manager theme. The bug was identified quite early in this beta cycle, is fixed in SVN, and the fix will be available in the next beta release, probably Sunday or Monday. Until then anytime you edit a manager user, you’ll need to choose an existing manager theme (not Default) on the User Settings tab. Or you may have to go into the database, as Susan suggested, to change the system_settings record for manager_theme or user_settings record for the same. Change to MODxLight and all will be well with the world.

                  It’s really pretty. I’m torn between MODxBlack and MODxLight!

                    Sorry!! I’ve looked through this thread two times, and I can’t find the information that "saving manager users and no longer seeing the manager theme" is a identified problem, just that I have to use MODxLight as manager theme. Possibly my bad English is the reason that I cant fint that text in this thread.

                    I only use public beta, so I’ll go for this clearifying explanation that I guess I missed in this thread:

                    I guess that it’s best not to post things that I have problems with, better leave that for the pros... sorry again for posting stupied questions.

                      I can see how this may have been a little bit confusing, especially if English isn’t your first language. Although there was a mention of only using the Light theme for now, if you didn’t notice this and then got such serious errors you might not realize what was going on. The developers are on top of this issue (which is really just due to this being a work-in-progress), and I don’t think they meant to tell you not to post your problems, just that this particular one is under control.
