    Although there was a mention of only using the Light theme for now, if you didn’t notice this and then got such serious errors you might not realize what was going on.
    Well. I got a bit irritated, because the information says not to change from MODxLight, and I didn’t. I can’t find anything in this thread that says "don’t edit a manager user", which was the only thing I was doing. So I was only trying to help, I could easily have just reinstalled instead of posting as I did.

    But I was only irritated for like one minute. smiley

    Thank you for replying to my rude post! wink

      Why is the text inside <textarea></textarea> so tiny in MODxLight?

        Maybe we should look into making better use of "stickies", so that when an issue is repeatedly brought up, the explanation/solution can be made into a stickie that stays at the top of the thread, instead of getting buried somewhere in the middle.

        @scotty: because apparently FF does something different with the font-size in the css file. I think it’s being dealt with; I did some fiddling with the css file until it looked better. I took the textarea out of the group that was given a font-size of 100%, and gave it its own rule of font-size 1.2em (or something like that, I forget exactly now).

          Thanks Susan.

          I feel like a jacka$$ now. How many times have I encouraged people to search before they post?

            As I understand it they are already on top of that and it will be fixed in next release. If someone need a quick fix just change in the css:
            From:
            input, textarea, td, select {
                font-size: 100% !important;
            }

            To:
            input, td, select {
                font-size: 100% !important;
            }
            textarea {
                font-size: 150% !important;
            }

            Works fine in FF.

            EDIT: SORRY! I was to late tongue

              Sorry Uncle68, I didn’t mean to imply not to post your problems, just thought this had been covered in this thread in more detail; I realize now it’s not as clear as I thought it was in this particular thread and apologize for my "got up late on the wrong side of the bed" response... wink

              @Susan, I think that’s a great idea about using stickies. Perhaps we should create some sub-forums for the beta release so we can create the known issues as individual sticky threads.

                I think this has to do with the fact that user settings (if set) will now override the default settings set in the configuration. When a manager user is saved, it also saves the theme settings for that user.

                Can you check what value has been inserted in the modx_user_settings table for the manager_theme value for that particular user? I’ve a feeling it’s not setting the theme value correctly.

                At least, this is my first guess at the problem.

                  Yes, you are correct, when creating a new user it automatically sets template in user settings to "Default" and that overrides what I’ve choosed as manager theme.

                  Same thing also happens when just changing the name of the user and hitting save, which was what I did (I did *not* change theme in user settings). When changing manually to MODxLight in user settings everything worked fine again.

                  I’ve been sitting in front of my screen for 14 hours now, so if this reply isn’t understandable you know the reason! tongue

                    Okay, that needs looking at then. It should set it initially to whatever the current configuration setting is for the theme - obviously, that hasn’t happened in your case.

                    Also, the question of setting defaults for the settings is open for discussion because when the default is set, it will always save that value (which may not be desired). Perhaps, leaving all the user settings blank and only save them if a value is physically set is the way to go.

                    Thoughts anyone?

                      I’m definitely not an experienced MODx developer, but the way I expect things to work when creating a new user is that user settings are default set to the same as the system settings. Then if I want a user to have other settings I go and change them manually for that user.
