      MODX default lockout for too many failed login's is 60 minutes. Try again after 60 minutes?

      Additionally, try logging in to the MODX manager itself instead of your usual login.

      eg: http://yoursitename.com/manager

      There you will see a "forgot password" option, which will send an email to you with your password if you can't remember it.

      There is no MODX "they", but whoever built your site is the "they" who used MODX to build it. I'd suggest contacting those "they's" or referencing any documentation "they" gave you when the site was built.

      Hope this helps.

        hi,

        honestly, you don't need anybody to do that, just open your db in phpmyadmin and (in evo or revo, the tables have the same name) find the table pref_user_attributes, have a look at it, find your user and change the blockeduntil to 0 and the failedloginaccount to 0, your account will be unblocked
        (pref being or modx_ or your personnal table prefix)

        if you don't remember your password, then use modx manager login page lost password funtion and everything will soon be ok smiley

          You only get blocked if you use the wrong password too many times.

          In Revolution, if you edit the DB, you'll have to clear the cache to be unblocked. That means deleting the files in the core/cache directory.

          If you don't have a core directory, it's MODX Evolution and there you can just edit this file rather than changing the DB and clearing the cache:

          assets/cache/sitecache.idx.php

          Change

          $c['blocked'] = "1";

          to

          $c['blocked'] = "0";

          and save the file.

          Once you're in the Manager, you'll have to edit your user to unblock yourself before loggin out.

            I am currently using wordpress and joomla. Haven't tried using Modx yet. Is Modx better than joomla and wordpress?

                @adampaulfowler,

                Could you post this thread in a new topic under General Support. This thread is for FAQs rather than issues with installation.

                Thanks,

                  @Bart Naquila,

                  This thread is perhaps not the best place for your question, MODX is vastly different than WordPress and Joomla. I'd suggest downloading and installing the latest version of Revolution 2.2 and have a play. If you have questions along the way feel free to ask in the General Support topic.

                  Cheers,

                  Jay

                    Hi,
                    I have created a new resource for my website and published it and made sure that the show in menu box is checked. Whilst the page shows on the site if you tap in its exact address, it is not visable in the menu.
                    Any help would be appreciated.
                    Thank you

                      Paulwo,

                      It's probably best to start your own thread, so others can see the specific thread title and help you further. Also, when you do that, please tell us what version of MODX you're using and a little more about how your menu is being generated. Are you using Wayfinder for the menu?
