      First of all I wanted to say thanks for the module, it’s great! grin

      So far I’ve only had one problem:

      I register for a new account in modx and log in. Then I go to the forum (I’m signed it to that as well) and I go to the profile page. Under the Modify Profile section I choose the Account Related Settings option. To make any changes to these settings you need to enter your password. My password never works.

      From my understanding, a random password is assigned to the smf account at some point in the sync process. I looked at the hashes in the smf database and this appears to be the case.

      Is it by design that the smf account password remains a random one to restrict users from changing their email/password from within smf? I am only interested in allowing users to be able to change the "hide email/online status" options.

      Thanks for any help you can provide smiley

        Hi, i’ve installed modx and smf and after it the smf-module.
        I’ve installed it all right, did the user sync. But after it, i want to acces to the admin center of the module and become this error:
        Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_loginbyid() in /home/disparos/public_html/web2/assets/modules/smforum/smf.admin.class.inc.php on line 36

        Why does it happen?

        Regards!

          I’m getting the same error. I installed ModX, installed SMF, installed the bridge. Followed all instructions. When attempting to access the adminstration I get:

          Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_loginbyid() in ... on line 36

          Can anyone help?

            Weird... I’m not sure why, but everytime I uploaded the smf_api_1.1.php file it got screwed up. I eventually had to use CPANEL file manager to edit the file and paste the contents. Very strange.

              I am having a problem with this module. Everytime I install it and try to configure it I get this error
              unable to load SMF settings. Please make sure that the SMF Path " was entered correctly
              I have 0.9.2.1 of MODx installed and 1.1RC2 of SMF installed on the same database. I have tried editing some of the SQL through phpMyAdmin to see if that was the problem and nothing I did fixed the problem. The install location of the SMF forums is currently in a sub directory named forums. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

                    I gotta say, it doesn’t look good, does it? I never got my installation working properly either.

                    Considering how spoiled we are re anything and everything else that has to do with modX though, and it makes it hard to complain very loudly. wink

                      Hi Everyone,

                      It’s been a while now but let’s me see if I can help put some of these problems to rest.

                      A few things to note:

                      1) Make sure you have updated your log.class.php inside manager/includes/ folder. This file should have been supplied with the SMF connector.

                      2) Make sure your installation of SMF is working properly before you even try to install the module

                      3) Make sure your SMF path is pointing to the correct folder. This is the physical path to the SMF folder NOT the url path. For example: /home/mysite/forums. One good way of getting the physical path is by creating a little file called getpath.php and add the following to it:

                      <?php
                      echo dirname(__FILE__);
                      ?>

                      Save this file and upload it into your smf folder and run it from the browser: e.g. http://ww.mysite.com/forums/getpath.php

                      When the path is displayed, copy it and paste it into the smf path of the plugin. Remove the getpath.php file from your website.

                      4) Make sure that all your module files are properly uploaded.
