Hi,
I am getting the following error when trying to sycronise:
    « MODx Parse Error »
MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
« Execution of a query to the database failed - INSERT,DELETE command denied to user ’mma_mma’@’localhost’ for table ’smf_settings’ »
    SQL: REPLACE INTO mma_forum.smf_settings (variable,value) VALUES(’integrate_pre_include’,’/home/mma/public_html/assets/modules/smforum/smf.integrate.inc.php’);

and Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_loginbyid() in /home/mma/public_html/assets/modules/smforum/smf.admin.class.inc.php on line 36 when trying to go into the admin centre

also when trying to log in getting:

        Hi folks,

(MODx 095 and SMF 1.1.2 running fine separately)

I’m also getting the same error as nidave when attempting to click on admin:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function smf_LoginById() in /home/mysite/public_html/assets/modules/smforum/smf.admin.class.inc.php on line 36"

And I get the following error when clicking on sync:

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function smf_registerMember() in /home/mysite/public_html/assets/modules/smforum/smf.sync.class.inc.php on line 114"

Any help would be much appreciated. smiley

        Thanks,
        Anton

          Hi all!

I have a big-big problem. I am about to migrate the whole site including forum to another server. The problem is, that if I try to log in to the forum inside of MODx manager with the original forum admin (who has been registered by the smf system on the "source" server), it sends an error msg: "unable to log into the smf administration center using the user name ’<adminusername>’" (feel free to replace smiley). It was working on the "source" server, but after copying all the files and importing the database it just keeps on sending this <beep> msg. I checked the database, it is also missing the old admin user. So the question is: how can I migrate the forum to another server? What is the solution?
          Thx in advance, people!

            Hi,

I’ve been trying to setup the SMF Bridge, with SMF 1.1.3 and ModX 0.9.6. I am able to install the module with no problems following the provided instructions; however when I go to synchronise the users, I get presented with a 404 error.

            Not Found

The requested URL /beta/portal/assets/modules/smforum/ was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

            Apache/1.3.37 Server at plusnetters.org.uk Port 80

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this and how I could fix it?

            Thanks smiley

did you copy the files for the bridge to assets/modules/smforum/ or to another folder like assets/modules/smf/

It looks like it can not find the folder also did you instaal modx in beta/portal/ then maybe a basepath problem?

Ok, please excuse my ignorance here, but I am extremely new to using Modx. I have read this thread, and looked through documentation... but honestly I am still lost and confused.

I have set up Modx on a test server, and installed the SMF Forums and the SMF mod that integrates the forums with Modx. I had used SMF before in the past, and I must say that I prefer it over any forum software... but lack of true integration with any CMS I had tried in the past prevented me from keeping it around. As right now I am using the dreadful Dragonfly CMS and it’s ForumsPRO module, which is nothing more than a glorified phpBB. It’s buggy, and causing headaches, and I really want to get away from it. Joomla is buggy, and so is Mambo. Drupal has no real good integration with SMF and it’s base forums suck... plus... it is just confusing as heck with it’s terminology. I have no real understanding of php or html. I am good at cop/paste with detailed instruction though tongue

Anyways, after following the instructions I have set up the SMF module. I go in to try and access the SMF administration from the module and I get this...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_loginbyid() in /home/noroviac/public_html/site1/assets/modules/smforum/smf.admin.class.inc.php on line 36
I try to Synchronize users (only user is me but still..)...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_registermember() in /home/noroviac/public_html/site1/assets/modules/smforum/smf.sync.class.inc.php on line 114
I try to log into the front page of my modx site...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_query() in /home/noroviac/public_html/site1/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(742) : eval()’d code on line 65
I must admit that I am getting pretty frustrated here and am doubting that I would get to use MODx.

As stated before I have searched the forums, read this thread in it’s entirety, read as much documentation as I could find... I have tried that updating the logs thing and all that. I am thinking my problem might have something to do with document ids for log in and registration. However I have no idea how to go about finding it, and am tired of just putting in any number that I think might be it.

If someone could please help me I would greatly appreciate it.

mythus, what functions do you need to have integrated with SMF from MODx? If you’re not doing custom coding of web applications, it’s likely a simply authentication check using SMF’s ssi.php stuff would suffice. That’s in fact what we do on the MODx site itself for user comments in the blog section.

                    I simply want this...

That members can sign onto the site and access galleries for pics, the forums, comment on news articles and the like, and access certain menus or pages that would only be availble to registered members once logged in.

Yup, and if I go to the folder (http://plusnetters.org.uk/beta/portal/assets/modules/smforum/) via the address bar it is displays fine.

ModX is in beta/portal/ and the CMS base url is set to http://plusnetters.org.uk/beta/portal/ with the forum base path set to /home/assos/public_html/plusnetters/beta/forums
