    Seems to work with 1.1 RC3.
    Now I have SMF 1.1 RC2 and the bridge installed... can I simple upgrade the forum to the RC3?
    Thanks

      I think you can but cannot say so definitively. You might back up everything and give it a try.

        I have upgraded the forum and everything seems to work good wink

        Wrong!! It doesn’t work correctly! When from the SMF board I clik login or logout I receive this error:
        Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at C:\sito\forum\Sources\Load.php:2198) in C:\sito\assets\modules\smforum\smf.integrate.inc.php on line 16

        (lines of the load.php are a little bit different from the original because I have made a fix for the SMF usercomment snippet)

          I don’t have a local installation of Modx (I had problems with setting up a server on my Windows machine, and now, it really needs a reinstall anyway). I could try installing with a test forum on the web server, but really I just need to know what to expect once installed.

          I understand that registrations and logins will take place through Modx. I also understand that the synching will take care of existing members. What happens with any account that I have already set up with Modx; if I decide to put off integration, what will happen when bringing the two membership lists together?

          I suppose the ideal thing for me would be for Modx to generate it’s membership list by reading the SMF membership table, and for it auto-update every so-many minutes. This way, SMF is untouched (guaranteeing no conflicts with future upgrades of SMF, especially the DB), and I can keep the superior SMF registration system. Has anyone made a Modx-SMF-lite integration such as I’ve described?

          Thanks.

            i have coppermine gallery and mediawiki bridged to my smf.
            will this still work after installing the module, or not, because the logins now are handled with modx?

            Your existing SMF users should still be able to login from coppermine gallery. Give it a try and let me know of the results.

            well, it does not work.
            doesn’t sync with users....

              At the risk of posing a question already asked, here goes.

              I’m new to both Modx and SMF. I installed SMF and the bridge. Separately SMF and Modx works just fine. But when logging on to ModX as a webuser, I won’t stay logged on when jumping to the forums part i.e. entering SMF it won’t recognize me as already logged on.

              I have it installed like so:

              modx here -> http://mysite
              SMF here -> http://mysite/forums

              I have not made a "page" in modx that represents http://mysite/forums i.e. they don’t know of eachother in any other way than what I set up in the configuration part of the bridge module.

              Anything obvious I’m overlooking?

                Hmmm,
                Does your MODx/Smf setup works without the coppermine gallery and mediawiki bridge?

                  A few questions:

                  1) What version of MODx are you using?
                  2) Did you Sync the users?

                    Well I just read through all of the posts... getting up to speed w/ MODx is quite the challenge!

                    Anyway, since one of the posts suggested that the actual MODx site wasn’t syncing w/ the forum, perhaps due to some of the issues that I’ve read about, I hoped over to the blog and noticed that I could post. Then I came back to the forum and logged out, and when I went to the blog, noticed that it said that I had to login to comment.

                    So apparently, while maybe things are working a little differently, I assume that the module is being used and syncing is happening.

                    However, one note of possible issue.... when I logged in on the blog page as if I was going to comment, it didn’t take me to the commenting screen, but brought me to the forum home page, which might be a bit aggravating and confusing to people.

                      Hi identity, it may be worth noting that the MODx site doesn’t use the SMF bridge - it uses the standard SSI functionality that comes with the SMF forum software.

                      SSI is fine for some applications but does have a few limitations in terms of flexibility and doesn’t really cater for user integration on the level that this module aims to provide. wink
