You can use SMF’s built in forum registration tools for registering and logging in. It would not be integrated with the MODx site, but it would allow your users to use the forum.

I think what he’s saying is that when he tries to disable integration, he can no longer access SMF’s login at all.

        Here’s a post that’ll help, I hope:
        http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,3565.msg27286.html#msg27286

Essentially, there’s a couple of SMF database entries that, if you clear ’em out, it’ll return to it’s normal state and no longer try to hook into MODx.

I’ve been away, so I haven’t been able to make any progress on my "reverse-bridge" ideas, though I converted over to SMF a little while ago (PHPBB was getting impossible to manage all the spam signups). So thus far, no progress in getting my users set up to publish real articles to the "main" site yet. sad

But now there’s a G2 plugin, so I’ve got to play w/ that as well (and get the heck off of Coppermine!)

I installed this module. When I use the Modx Registeration and then I go to my SMF forum and it shows newly registered member but it doesn’t create an account for it. Although when I use the SMF registeration and then I have to sync. my database through modx and a web user is created.

Is there anyone way that there is a auto sync. so someone registers on SMF and its automatically registered on the main site smiley.

          Regards,

if you are admin it can be tricky sometimes when dealing with smf/modx because of the cookies, you may often have to clear out your cookies refresh browser and things will work normal, its a pain in the ass, would be cool if once you log out the cookies automatically get deleted, I now use three different browsers to test everything
            1. admin area 2. guest 3. user loggged in
this way I can be sure of what everyone can see, I do like the way the smf mod creates the user on the smf end that saves a lot of time

I tried every technique but did not helped!

I still get the darn error, after reuploading the api file, after rewriting the inc file... always the same error...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_loginbyid() in /home/panonius/public_html/portal/assets/modules/smforum/smf.admin.class.inc.php on line 36

                Hi,

Please try this version. I believe the original format was for MACs. I’ve changed it to use the UNIX format.

You mean the MODx Web user registration Snippet or Web User Registration from the Manager?
