Is the integration of SMF still in the works.
    The documentation looks pretty clear.
I downloaded it, and might try hooking it up yet this weekend.
What does the forum look like out of the box, probably not the sharp green and black modX default, or is it?

I’ve got nothing to lose at the moment, mine’s just the default install, so the sooner the better I suppose.
I’m a forum’s addict. I’ll soon have other blogging means though, thanks to MODx.

does anyone know if in the smf mod should there be added a SMF Connector - Module Dependencies ? I notice there’s one there on live server called smf connect plugin but its not there on my locahost version not sure if that was part of the install or not

BTW i managed to find that my localhost login issues don’t exist on the liveserver, smf connector seems to be functioning good, its still takes some getting use to though when trying to login to forum it redirects to main site login

is Modx forum using the smf connector ?

I think its a good lesson re: localhost/liveserver sometimes things just work better on a liveserver ? I’ve found it to be the case but I think my localhost is configured as good as liveserver but seems everything works better when live

I’ve noticed on Safari that the SMF connecter results in error when trying to syinc users or connect to admin via manager,

The requested URL /assets/modules/smforum/ was not found on this server.

        works in camino and firefox

I’m having major SMF MODX cookie issues at aleast I think that’s it not sure,

sometimes the login works but then sometimes its not letting me connect

ie i login as admin go to smf and everything appears find, it shows admin logged in then when i click on admin it goes back to guest and a note saying the username you are trying to use already exists

are the cookies wacked ? lol  it doesn’t appear to expire once you log out even when I clear them

or does it think becase admin is logged in manager in one browser and admin logged in frontend on another browser there are 2 same users ?

here’s something i logged out of everything cleared the cache all cookies then when i go back to the page it still shows me logged in to frontend its insane

has anyone had cookie issues ?

Does anyone have an answer to this problem?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_loginbyid() in /home/generals/public_html/assets/modules/smforum/smf.admin.class.inc.php on line 36

            Also, what is this?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_query() in /home/generals/public_html/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(681) : eval()’d code on line 65

Could someone please help? I don’t mean to whine or anything, but I’m getting really desperate.

I also get this error during registration.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_registermember() in /home/generals/public_html/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(681) : eval()’d code on line 123

              Please help!

Thanks! I replaced my Api file and now it’s great.

Except I have a new problem now.

I’m an extreme noob but it seems to me as if I did set up the module correctly. But evidently I didn’t.

Well in anycase, here’s the problem that I’m running into on my site.

Well first of all, newly registered members don’t get put into the membergroup that I’ve set in the configuration. So that’s something strange.

Then, after users finish registering they go to the forums. Everything is fine until they click on one of the boards, then the forum automatically logs them out. I enabled the top login boxes on the forums so that players can log in with those. But they need to request a new password because the password that they register with on the main site won’t work.

So after a long and troubling work around, users can get into the forums.
This of course, stinks. Please help!

You could turn off the Module for now and just get the SMF part working on it’s own. Develop the working module integration in a subdirectory on your existing site, then push it live when it’s working.

How would I go about turning it off? If disable it, I can’t log in or register at all!
