TreasureChest: MODx eCommerce solution.

To be honest the example chunk for the PDT placeholders I gave earlier was from someone else’s existing install I did some customisation on.
I don’t know where the info on them came from, maybe the design studio got in touch with Scotty.
After posting I started wondering where they were set, so had a scout through the code.
I’m not sure you missed anything, could well have never been publicised!

Interesting. Perhaps, I’ll write up some notes on what I learned doing this the first time. There were several areas where I got stuck.

Finally, I’m seeing one other thing I’m curious about. To test this out. I created a product with prices of $0.01 and used my own credit card to purchase them. Transitions all came through correctly. However, I received an email with a subject that says:

Possibly inaccurate business email.

In the header is the following information:

From: [email protected]
X-Identified-User: {####:host##.hostmonster.com:terrybar:terrybarthdesign.com} {sentby:program running on server}

In the body is information about the purchase. But no other explanation or text.

I checked with my host, they said they didn’t generate this note. Could this have come from TC?

Could this be related to the fact that the buyer and seller in the test transaction had the same email address?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Time for a little give back.  I get so much really great help from these forums so I thought I’d try to return the favor. 

I’ve never created a shopping cart before, so I had a few things to learn about the whole process, but when it came to implementing Treasure Chest I had a little trouble putting it all together.  So I made a few notes.

I started with the documentation and simply added some notes in those areas I didn’t get right the first time through.  No gaurantees all the info is correct or complete, as I said this was my first time with this.  Please feel free to let me know of any errors or needed corrections.

I hope this is useful to someone.

I’m not sure about the emails.
I vaguely recall some issue when using the PayPal sandbox account, but I don’t think we had any issues when the site was live.
Next time I speak to the designers I’ll ask.

I seem to be be having an issue with the install, I get this when i goto my install fodler

Upon clicking the "Install" button, the following will be executed:

* "modx_treasure_chest" will be added to the database.
* "modx_treasure_chest_config" will be added to the database.
* "modx_treasure_chest_sales" will be added to the database.
* The "TreasureChest" SNIPPET will be installed
* The "TreasureChest" MODULE will be installed
* The System Events "OnIPNVerified", "OnIPNInvalid", "OnPDTSuccess", and "OnPDTFail" will added.

Warning: file_get_contents(LICENSE.english.txt) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/fhlinux159/k/kevinhattam.co.uk/user/htdocs/install/index.php on line 235

I went ahead and installed it anyway but I got another error when i tried to initiate it.

Any ideas?

Looks like something changed/got re-named with the current version.
Try renaming LICENSE.txt to LICENSE.english.txt in the install folder.
or try changing at around line 223 of install/index.php from :
to :

I got same error while running installation as mentioned earlier:



So, as suggested earlier I just created folder "treasure_chest" under /assets/snippets and copied the whole content of /install folder to there, too. Then I configured TC from manager and created product and cart pages but on product page it just doesn’t show up anything.

I’m afraid I need somehow a way to go through the installation without errors but I don’t know how. I also tried to create folder "treasure_chest" under /assets/snippets manually and chmod it 777 (also all files under /install folder chmod 777) before running installation but didn’t help.
