Is it worth switching to CK from TinyMce. Thx
<h3>
headline h3 goes here</h3>
Interesting…
Two things about the generated code:
This RTE still adds unwanted tags around snippets and chunks. It also creates really ugly gaps in basic headline and paragraph code. Like this:
<h3> headline h3 goes here</h3>
I see that this editor works better with table content. But if you do not use tables what are the advantages over using TinyMCE?
Thanks!
Also, CKEditor 3.2 has been released: any way to update?
Thank you so much, works like a charme so far!
How can I reduce the number of options in the "Format" select field? I would like to only have "Headline 2" and "Headline 3"...

I just switched a few site to CK and I like it a lot better. However, you lose the ability to directly add MODx weblinks like you can in TinyMCE, which is a nice convenience to have. That’s the only disadvantage I see so far
$ckInstances .= "CKEDITOR.addStylesSet( 'my_styles'," . PHP_EOL;
$ckInstances .= "[" . PHP_EOL;
$ckInstances .= "{ name : 'Heading 3 Date', element : 'h3', attributes : { 'class' : 'date' } }," . PHP_EOL;
$ckInstances .= "{ name : 'Continue link', element : 'p', attributes : { 'class' : 'continue' } }," . PHP_EOL;
$ckInstances .= "{ name : 'Clear Formatting', element : 'p' }, " . PHP_EOL;
$ckInstances .= "{ name : 'Help link', element : 'p', attributes : { 'class' : 'help' } }" . PHP_EOL;
$ckInstances .= "]);" . PHP_EOL;
Thanks! Will try it out now.
Is it just a standard set of changes that you make to every release? In that case might it be worth documenting these so that anybody could take over keeping this project up to date? (just in case!)
