Support/Comments for TinyMCE

I recently upgraded from 0.9.5 to 0.9.6 RC-2...(I completely removed older TinyMCE folder)

However, I am getting some weird errors preventing me from using the editor. I’m not sure what happened, or how to correct.

I am using TinyMCE 2.1.0, confirmed proper Plugin code as well as System Events:

But when I try to edit a document, I get the following JS errors, and TinyMCE doesn’t load:

Please help! I even copy/pasted the entire tiny_mce folder from a working installation, tried re-saving MODx config, changing from simple to advanced, etc, etc...all with no luck. What is going on here?

UPDATE: I have upgraded to the official/public 096 RC2/RC3, unfortunately with no luck. Same errors.

What in the world is going on here? How can this be fixed? ... I don’t experience this problem on OTHER 096 RC2 installs, just this one.

Eureka! I have solved it!

There’s a nasty bug in the TinyMCE included with modx-svn-2447. Fortunately there’s an easy fix.
In assets/plugins/tinymce/tinymce.functions.php near the bottom:

i.oldTargetElement.onchange();
}
[/tt]
Should be:

[tt]
function tvOnTinyMCEChangeCallBack(i){
if (i.oldTargetElement.onchange) {
i.oldTargetElement.onchange();
}
}
[/tt]

The problem appears to be that sometimes oldTargetElement has no onchange method, so if you fail to check before you call it, you get an error. Of course, it could be that the actual bug is that there SHOULD be an onchange element but there isn’t. I don’t know enough about the code to say.

This renders some/all of the toolbar buttons useless (at least in firefox), so I’d say it’s a pretty important bug. After applying this fix, everything seems to work just fine.

Ever seen this one? I have been having a not-so-good time regarding 096 SVN + TinyMCE I generally will make backup of old site (.SQL), create db/table structure, then perform 096 SVN Upgrade. After tweaking settings/paths, still no love from TinyMCE

When trying to edit a document, TinyMCE never loads, and throws the following JS error: ( Ideas? )

Error: editorTemplate has no properties

Since ’to.getEditorTemplate’ is returning false (Why?), editorTemplate is never established, causing my errors

Actually...I cannot find the function "getEditorTemplate" anywhere? Not even in MODx JavaScripts...

It’s in these files:
assets/plugins/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/themes/simple/editor_template_src.js
assets/plugins/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/editor_template_src.js
If you don’t have these files, that’s probably your problem.

Hello,
I am quite new to MODx cms and I try to add video WMV to my content. Unfortuantely, after adding a wmv file from "Files" catalog by "Media" icon in TinyMCE editor I get black Player screen on the frontside, without any movie . The preview in the "insert" window when adding the video plays ok. It also plays ok (both preview and fronside view) in Mozilla, but Internet Explorer 6 shows nothing. I am using MODx 0.9.5 with TinyMCE 2.0.8. Is it something with TinyMCE? Or am I doing something wrong? Please help me how to make IE6 play wmv files...

Usually it’s the problem of having "media" and "flash" plugins both installed.

I am trying to do the same thing (replace the code target="_blank" with rel="external" ?)

I have a script that looks for the rel="external" tag an opens it up in a new window.
