Support/Comments for TinyMCE

Suppose you could do, but I am looking to set all new windows to external as oppose to _blank, it will get through WAI checkpoints then.

Well, I know next to nothing about TinyMCE setup and options (and I really oughta learn). But you could certainly do this sort of replacement with a MODx plugin and your problem would be solved (albeit perhaps not in the most elegant way possible). You could just use a variation of the Word Replace plugin to do your replacement when the page is rendered on the front end, or if you prefer you could rewrite it to change the text when the document is saved in the Manager instead.

Hi - I’ve upgraded to 2.1.1.1 and I’m getting some wierd error messages reported by Firebug.
When I go into the content edit TinyMCE window and try to insert an image I’m firstly getting no drop down link list of internal pages and when I click on the file browser icon I get the following error messages:



I am using moo.fx and prototype lite on some pages within the site so am wondering if there is some conflict going on.

Any thoughts on this anyone please?

I’ll be happy to look into this and debug it. Umm...what version of MODx are you using? 0.9.5? Also, what OS and browser is the error happening in? Since you mentioned Firebug, I’m assuming it’s happening in Firefox but which version?

I’ll try and give you an answer over the weekend. But for now...I gotta go play some golf!

I’ve solved the link list thing - just a configuration point.

As for the main problem I’m using 0.9.5, Firefox 2.0.0.3 on WinXP Pro but tests similarly on IE7 and 6 as far as I can tell.

I am tring the new TinyMCE. Can you tell us who to configure it from the manager ?

- I feel a bit disturbed like Perrine than there is two place to configure the editor. It’s not realy obvious to understand where to configure. If i have read well there his one place for frontend and one for backend. Maybe a tip to explain that will be appreciated (or one place role-based config).

* The most anoying behaviour for myself, is that only the change under Tools>Config>Interface & Editor have partial effects on the editor :
--> If i change the themes from `simple` to `advanced` or whatever the change is effective in the backend (thats good) but also in the frontend. Is it the expected effect ?
--> In the same place, if i choice to change button list, lets say only `redo, undo` buttons. I still have the standard buttons in both backend and frontend. The buttons list seems not to be used
--> If i try to change themes or button list from Resources>Plugin config, nothing is affected in frontend & backend :’(
--> Alternaly, this option page is not very clear, i will be happy to have a fews tips or example just near the fields. What are the differences betwen ’named/numeric/row’ for example or what is the full list of the available button names (in case we delete most of them) ?

* Also, when themes ’simple’ or ’advanced’ are chosen the button are at the bottom of the page (why not) but the frontend-quickedit window height is not resised (and no scroller appear). Manual resise of the windows is forced each times.

Sorry for this long post with only bad feedback. Anyway i still prefer TinyMCE compared to Xhina (no french) and FCKEditor (buggy option page) :-D And i realy like the new `content editor` theme compared to the old too big or too short `simple` and `advanced` themes.

I just installed the new 0.9.6 modx version, which comes with TinyMCE version 2.1.1.1. I noticed that the TinyMCE "full featured" theme is not present anymore. I have tried selecting the all themes: simple, advanced, content editor and custom. None of them provides the "full featured" toolbar. How can I enable it?

Take a look at the following wiki entry:

It should answer some of your questions. The "Full Featured" theme was removed in favor of the more slimmed down Content Editor theme. You can still use every plugin and button if you wish to by simply using the Custom theme and adding entries for all plugins and buttons. I prefer using the Content Editor theme...has just about everything I could ever use. And the Custom theme is great when you simply want a very specific configuration.
