        The problem is with the section of the sqlParser.class.php file that ignores the errors (lines 95 and 96). The database on that host returns the error messages in French. I tried copy/pasting the appropriate phrase, but there is a problem with the character encoding (iso? unicode?). So I pasted in a different section of the error messages, and it works just fine. I’ve attached the modified version of the file. Remove the .txt from the name, and replace the sqlParser.class.php file in the Install folder with this one. Should work for any site where the database returns the error messages in French.

            Should get real interesting when we’ve got users with Japanese databases!

              This means to me that we need alternate logic for dealing with such things.

                Doesn’t mySQL return errors as a numeric value as well?

                  Susan, this is GREAT, thanks !!!

                  But it’s rather strange that the modified sqlParserClass section I uploaded in the french forum (with the proper french error messages replacement) didn’t work in the first place. The file was UTF-8 encoded (at least that’s what PS Pad tells me...).

                  I am curious to understand, and I noticed a difference in your sqlParserclass file, line 25 :

                  	mysql_select_db(str_replace("`", "", $this->dbname), $this->conn);

                  becomes

                  mysql_select_db($this->dbname, $this->conn);

                  and indeed an added linebreak @line 95.

                  Just curious there... In the meantime I’ll update the file in the french forum with reference to your original post here.

                      I just used the file that came in a freshly unzipped version; I didn’t want to get tangled up in anybody else’s modifications.
