Ditto randomly stopped sorting things correctly? [not solved, but not modx prob]

Which version of MODx is the site running currently?

Your webhost is out of temporary space on the server and MySQL doesn’t have room to work. In other words, it’s probably way oversold and in all likelihood you’ll see these issues over and over again. If it were me, I’d cut my losses and run.

Perhaps I should have been more clear about what exactly "didn’t work". What I meant was that my original problem of stuff not sorting correctly wasn’t fixed. The issue I described during the process of trying to solve this problem, where I got a MySQL error was on my host’s end, and after a couple of hours they fixed it. I haven’t had any other broad database access type errors since then, so I don’t think this was related to my problem of Ditto not sorting things in the correct order.

But, that said, yes, I do hate my host and would love to move to a different one. I’m just in really deep with them, with many many many GB of data stuck on their servers and no way to readily get it off and onto a new host’s server since they don’t allow SSH access. Blurg! But next time I need to renew (in like 9 months), I’m seriously going to consider it, believe me.

It’s been about a week since the last post on this... any new ideas popup?

It really sounds like you’re running the 5.0.45 client for MySQL but behind the scenes, some version of MySQL 5.0.51 is running the show on the server side. That and if your time is worth more than a quarter an hour, it’d cost you less to switch to a reliable host instead of constantly chasing your tail with the current one.

looks like you were right all along! i’m so sorry that i didn’t know how to dig deep enough into my host’s server info to parse that, in fact, i WAS running 5.0.51 in some places! the cpanel unabashedly lies and only lists 5.0.45, i promise! sorry to have sent everyone running off in all different directions and generally being a forum nuisance.

Seems I got same problem with ditto and mysql 5.0.51b , the syntax randomize is not working at all also sorting.
I use appserv on windows... after i found this thread, I move to my webserver in my laptop that using mysql 4x. It WORKED !!!
