Support/Comments for Quip 1.2.0-rc2

I can’t get notification emails to work in Revo 2.0.4pl2 with Quip 1.2.0

I’ve tried reinstalling Quip.

I’m not using SMTP and all of my FormIt forms work

This is the sort of message I get in the error log

What is the prerequisite for Quip to send notification emails?

The SMTP settings are correct (system sends email notification to new users).

I use this code (with a real email address of course:
[[!QuipReply? &thread=`blog-post-[[*id]]` &notifyEmails=`[email protected]` &moderate=`1` &moderatorGroup=`QuipModerators` &tplAddComment=`myTplAddComment`]]

And in the quip system settings I’ve inserted the same email I’ve that is used for the SMTP login.

The error log looks similar to the one leebone posted above (changed email and IP for this posting, but both were valid setting, email existed):

Or rather, they were. Just updated my password and didn’t get an email from that either. It’s possible that I broke something yesterday just before I started testing comments…
Oh, bother.

Nothing’s broken. It just took a few extra minutes for my new password email to get to me. System emails and eform formIt forms are sending as they should.

Just wondering, can <a> tags be allowed, or other tags, and how? I can see an option in

Although Quip does an excellent conversion of URLs to links itself, it seems.

Just looking at the documentation:

Option: gravatarIcon Description: The type of Gravatar icon to use for a user without a Gravatar. Default: identicon

What are the other options, or how is a string for &gravatarIcon= interpreted? Can we put in a URL of a default image?

ok, I changed this to &gravatarIcon=`mm` having looked at Gravatar’s documentation.

This works prior to submit in the comment preview, but once submitted, it is defaulting back to an identicon. Does it need to be placed somewhere else, or is this a bug?

I worked this out, the option needs to go into both Quip and QuipReply.

Any idea why Quip would be displaying Gravatars with the code below?
