I was unable to view any comments in the Quip area in Manager (clicking on the little refresh button just gave me a never ending Loading spinner). I checked the error_log and found:

PHP Warning:  require_once(/home/USERNAME/public_html/home/config.core.php) [<a href='function.require-once'>function.require-once</a>]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/USERNAME/public_html/home/assets/components/quip/connector.php on line 29

Looking at the connector.php file, this is the line that gave the error:

require_once dirname(dirname(dirname(dirname(__FILE__)))).'/config.core.php';

so I hardcoded in the path to the file

require_once '/home/USERNAME/public_html/home/manager/config.core.php';

Everything works now but after several uninstalls and reinstalls of quip, I don’t understand why it was looking in an incorrect path in the first place. Could it be that I upgraded from 2.03 ro 2.04-pl2?

On another note, I am getting the same problem with Batcher (neverending Loading) so I will again have to hardcode the path in, to get it to work.

Hi there!

Going to convert Mambo Comments to Quip so I need to be able to create new quip objecs.

But the usual way doesn’t seem to work for me:

$path = MODX_CORE_PATH . 'components/quip/';
$resultQ = $modx->addPackage('quip',$path . 'model/','modx_quip_');
if (! $resultQ) {
  return 'failed to add package';
} else {
  $output .= '<p>Added Quip Package</p>';
} 

$quipComments = $modx->getCollection('quipComment');

  $quipCommentsCount = count($quipComments);
  $output .= '<p>Total Quip Comments in database: '. $quipCommentsCount  . '</p>';

I get a count of 0 even though there are comments in the table. Cannot set anything if I create a new object.

So, how can I work with Quip tables/objects?

1. You don’t need "’modx_quip_’" in the addPackage call.
2. Are there any errors in core/cache/logs/error.log?

Oh, I tried both "modx_quip_" and empty, but it should be only "modx_". Now i’s working, thanks!

I checked the log of course, but in manager. For some strange reason the error messages didn’t show up last night, but they are there now. Perhaps some chache problem with Chrome, has happend similar before. I’ll start checking core/cache/logs/error.log instead.

Btw, when importning comments from another system, is it ok to leave "quip_comments.existing_params", "qt.quip_call_params" and "qt.quipreply_call_params" empty?

Of course I can test it myself but saves time if getting the answer from an expert!

How qcc.ancestor and qcc.descendant works I’ll try to figure out myself, feels like an IQ test for me when looking at the table! tongue

EDIT: Wow, QUIP/MODX is fantastic, took me no-time to create a snippet that import very bad formated old Mambo comments into Quip! Shouldn’t be to hard to adjust the snippet to import comments from Jot. Or any other commenting system. I might do it!
Revo really must be the best CMS and Quip is as fantastic as Revo. Ppl, start to use Revo!

This is a wonderful plugin - working very nicely!

One thing I can’t figure out is how to change the (From Name) using (Quip).

Everything in the emails is (Quip <- how do I change this? [[email protected]])

hi everyone!
please help to understand how to moderate new comments. These are the snippets call:

[[!Quip? &useGravatar=`0` &thread=`feedback`&threading=`0` &maxDepth=`0`]]

[[!QuipReply? &thread=`feedback` &closeAfter=`0`]]

New comments are adding, email notifications work fine. But I can’t find how to delete comments.

When I go to Components - Quip it’s empty.

Maybe because of English documentations I missed something important...

i’ve downloaded the error.log (it’s a ~27MB file, is it ok?) and there are no errors about quip.
and i do not have never ending loading in Manager (quip area). It loads and says Access denied... undecided
