The server does not run in save_mode.. Maybe when i give you some details you can look?

Yes, that’s it.

Put this line inside .htaccess file to turn it OFF:
php_value safe_mode off

IF ABOVE DOESN’T WORK, THEN:
php_flag safe_mode off

ALSO try substituting the "off" word with: 0

Eg: php_value safe_mode 1

Edit: Tested it on an other server (with admin rights) and have the same problem.

I just tested your files.
the test.zip (5MB) was out of the php’s upload_max_filesize.
Then I made the work around, by making a .htaccess inside manager/ directory, which was responsible on the module’s execution:

Easy 2 Gallery 1.4.0 release candidate 1 is now available.

If you’re interested, please make the translation from the Help > Translate menu.
If you’re delighted, play with it, make it break, then report back

I’d need report and translation support before put this into the repository.
Until then, I will hold all new feature requests.
Stable first.
You may post them on the google code list, though.

What with that transliteration feature I mentioned earlier? We’ve got transliteration table from TransAlias plugin ready to use. Just a small option in settings:
Trans table: common transliterations / none.
It’s really important and till now most of the non-latin characters in file/folder names was breaking e2g as I shoved you on the screens.

You write

Rename it instead.
Then copy config.easy2gallery.php to
assets\modules\easy2\includes\configs\
folder.

Then you can begin the upgrade.

What do you mean by "the older folder"? Should I unzip the archive into some temporary folder, copy the new config.easy2gallery.php to the location you mention and then ... what happens? Does an upgrade option become available and I then point to the new temporary folder I put the new version in?

Sorry if I’m being dense, but I hadn’t upgraded before and just want to be clear - and not goof up the work I’ve already done!

You need to use the google code’s files, or update your SVN.
It’s been slightly changed since the last one you asked me about the document tree.

Anyway, about the encoding, frankly speaking,
I’m incompetence on encoding. It took me days to figure out how to handle Unicode.
I couldn’t resolve the better way, since my tongue only speaks Latin-1/ISO-8859-1.
I’ve prepared the enhancement by using a function to make a selection of character encoding.
I’ve also added the UTF-8 class inside the includes/ folder, if someone like you can help me on using that better.
You can search for _e2g_encode function inside module’s class.
And as you realized, the config also provide the Encode option.
I need your lead or simple example on how to use that TransTable.

rename your previous folder, eg: assets/modules/old_easy2.
then use the new one.
if you’re upgrading,
search the config.easy2gallery.php inside the old folder assets/modules/old_easy2/includes/ ,
and copy+paste it to the new folder assets/modules/easy2/includes/configs/
