i have no problem adding this, but last time it ended up in an own cms into a cms, replacing most stuff from the cms in one module.

yea ok, seems editing within the module is wanted, so i’m going to add it directly after this year ends.

here is some thoughts and impressions:

advantages:
- content management
- tv management
- fast tree access
- VERY comfortable sorting and visual understanding
- easy document editing - separated buttons for doc properties and doc content editing

disadvantages::
- no description for buttons, it’s bad, cause simple user just cannot understand what this thingie do
- very ANNOYING and SLOW document creation method:
    1st button pushed - pagetitle writing
    2nd button pushed - saving pagetitle
    3rd button pushed  - content access
    4th button pushed - content access phase two
    5th button pushed - saving content
    6th button pushed - closing content tab
    7th button pushed - accesing doc properties
    8th button pushed - closing doc properties tab after doc is published
- no recycle bin, if you want to real delete document, you’ll need to go to default doc tree, this is very uncomfortable and again - slow
- no TV preview for image TV, it’s very bad for katalog creation

well, this is real advancement, it’s nearly perfect module in context of large katalog creation. But very slow in content management. Situation which i’ve described before repeating again. If you want to create about 10 docs, 1st you’ll need create 10 pagetitles - 20 clicks, then 60 times push various buttons to fill the pages. 8!!! Freakin’ clicks to create doc (and this is without tvs).

Is there any possibility leave all in it’s current structure, but just add longtitle, content and tv fiedls (with preview for image) in document creation form? This will be very comfortable system then, for creating large katalog structure.

Your’re talking about catalogue creating, is that some kind of shop you are trying to maintain, or something, in this case a specialized catalogue-wizard-module would be an option.

And sorry for the Workflow, but this exactly reflects what i elaborated with my customers.

As you said, i’m working on it to add a preview for image-tvs, also have to add long title, summary / introtext for news editors mostly and a way to define internal / external links to menuitems, that all is on the map for this week

Catalogue creating it’s just one of difficult tasks, often needed in site creation.
If catalogue is big, but not very complicated in product relations, why not create it with modx?
Your module is just very comfortable in managing such catalogue.
Why not use it?

It’s just need some modifications to be just perfect for managing big document structure, which is few of modx drawbacks, which you can correct and bring to perfection.

so, where should i put the content editing stuff in?

all together in the "Create Document" window splitted with tabs, maybe?

this will cause you to scroll down a lot on a document with lots of template variables

yes, ofcourse, you may scroll, but it will save precious time in comprasion with opening 10 or more tabs to fill those tv’s. When you create doc by default modx mechanizm, you need to scroll in order to fill all tv’s. Document creation form of this module must include all doc parts, so you can create docs immediately whith all parameters, ’cause this is simply fast creation method, and this is very important in every task.

back again, i give it a try and will post back here when it’s done, can take some time since i’m working on something else, that i have to finish first.
