what’s the point in creating empty documents whith just pagetitle and menutitle?
Sorting and document characteristics functions of your module is just great. But why then you’ve added incomplete document creation function?

For my customers I often set up a "main" structure of a new web site. For press releases I recommend to store them in folders for each year. And then I create future folders for next years. Theses folders are empty of course.

I don’t understand the problem. I think this module’s purpose is to aid in managing the documents themselves and not the content. You have the doc tree for content. Maybe add a direct link to the edit page for complete editing (no need to be able to edit content in multiple places IMO). At first glance I thought that "Long Title" would be a good thing to add, but that is content and not document info so I changed my mind and think that it does not belong in this module.

Maybe a future module could be developed to be used instead of the doc tree. This would be an interesting idea, but I like the doc tree and I like this molude as an alternative method for managing the documents (not content). As the name says, it is a DocSort tool, not DocCreate 

@012h: There are many instances where a folder could be empty. The isfolder setting can also be used to trigger ’custom’ results from Ditto or Wayfinder so it is used quite a bit even with empty folders.

@kongondo: the wayfinder issue may be a modx cache related problem (like when adding content via a snippet). When you save the document in the manager it refreshes the cache.

Funny...was thinking about this exactly last night.

OK, How would one deal with this? Coz I tried clearing modx’s cache and refreshing the browser but nothing doing. Thx.

The secretary which is managing site as a rule don’t know a thing about doc publishing, and don’t want to know.
ok, she has created 10 pages with this module in order to complete them later. Documents are now visible on site, cause by default i’m always configuring site options for publishing documents by default, cause secretary don’t care. And what, about half an our she’s completing documents by default tree, and site visitors see distorted page with pagetitle names only. No images, introtexts, tvs which completing front page view (as a rule page aggregated by ditto). This is Stupid!

no, all companies needs full control over the site. Managing directory structure is very important thing. Newseditor doesn’t allow this.

@mk99: It does! You can set menuindex order by clicking a button "move up" in the newsmanager that comes with newseditor. Then you just have
a manager for each folder you want clients to control. But docmanager module and modx manager is simple to learn...

o well, i’ve refused to use frontend management long time ago, building frontend management tools doesn’t justifies time and effort.
Maybe this is an option, but this module with some completion will be the best management solution for not so bright people, like secretary, which is 99% of managers.

i have no problem adding this, but last time it ended up in an own cms into a cms, replacing most stuff from the cms in one module.
