Support/Comments for EZfaq

Is EZfaq supposed to work with friendly url’s enabled? I ask because I get a 404 error when accessing my FAQ’s page with friendly url’s enabled but everything works fine when they are not.

Perhaps I Am missing something?


solved- I forgot to mention this was a fresh install which also means I forgot to mention that I hadn’t saved my .htaccess.

works fine for me with FURL.

EZfaq 1.0.4 is now available in the Repository. The only significant change is the addition of the &cssPath parameter which allows the user to specify a custom .css file or use no .css file and put the .css in the site’s .css file (thanks to jaredc for the suggestions).

Bob,
What is to be done about any other html between the Q: and A: for example what if I have an anchored title for each letter of an alphabet in a glossary. Like so:

A_
Apple:
Apples are good for you.
Aardvark:
Aardvarks are funny looking.

B_
Basket:
Baskets are good on picnics.
Bird:
Birds can fly.

and so on..

is there anything that can be done to accommodate that type of structure? I’m willing to go in and hand code all the anchors before hand, but the snippet is swallowing up my anchors. It works fantastic on FAQs! I modified it a little bit to use mootools’ sliding effect and it looks awesome. However, if you split up terms alphabetically like I have and insert Anchors then it swallows up the html in between questions.

Good question. I did try using some basic HTML in the questions and answers and it seemed to work. I didn’t try anchors, though. I’ll have to see what’s up with that when I have time. I probably won’t get to it until next week though, sorry.

It may be an issue with the javascript that does the expansion and contraction, in which case it may be somewhat out of my hands.

No rush Bob. It’s a great snippet and works fantastic "out of the box" it’s just that there were other requirements for the output. If you get around to it let me know what you find out. Thanks a ton.
