This is a great snippet. I really liked it when I saw it on your website and was planning on doing something similar (by hand) on mine.

There are a few problems with the instructions. There are some errors in your example snippet calls:



should be:
EZfaq? and ezfaq/images/plus.png



Basically, you are missing the ? after EZfaq and you have a . where a / should be.

Also forgot to mention the need to cut and paste the snippet call (that is needed for newbies like me).

Other than that, great work.

I’ve made those corrections and will upload 1.0.2 as soon as I check to see whether it will work in 0.9.7.

Version 1.0.2 now available. The only significant changes are corrections to readme.txt.

Tested and found to work with MODx 0.9.7.

1.0.1 works with 0.9.7 also. No need to upgrade unless the typos in the installation instructions gave you trouble.

Are you still working on the image inclusion part? I tried it and couldn’t get it to work. It didn’t look like there was any code in the snippet that would include the img part.

Here is the working snippet call from bobsguides.com MODx FAQ (which definitely shows the images):



The image parameters should be the same as the example in readme.txt (at least in theory).

The image reference should end up in the page source.

btw, is there any limition as for what I can use with it?
for example, can one have Flash movie inside the Q-A page and display it as an answer?

I just installed the EZfaq and it does not work for me ;-(

1. I uploaded the zip file into the wrong directory (mea culpa), expanded it there, got eqfaq\image ... files (note the backslash)
I cannot delete these files anymore. Any hints?

2. I created the correct folders in assets/snippets and uploaded each file into the correct place.

3. I checked and think I followed exactly the instructions, changed the FAQ(39) pointing to FAQ-content(40) but the FAQ content just spits out the file as I wrote it with:


Q:How can I underline a word with BBCode?

A:Use in front of the underline word and after the underlined word

Q:Where can I buy a computer mouse?

A:At my famous store, of course.

Q:END-FAQ

Work in progress can go here and won’t be displayed

Sorry you’re having trouble. You should be able to delete the files in the wrong directory using Filemanager in Cpanel (or whatever your host provides).

It sounds like you might be missing the javascript files (or have javascript turned off in your browser?). Another possibility is that the .css file is missing or in the wrong place.

When you do a view source of your FAQ page, you should see these two lines in the header:



Make sure they’re there and that those two files are in the locations listed there.
