I need to allow users the ability to upload pics from the frontend, and I’d like to do it with EGP gallery -- is this not good idea?
I think uploading the pic into the database is better than into the file system, I think. But then I only know enough to be dangerous.
"Adversus solem ne loquitor." -don’t speak against the sun (don’t waste your time arguing the obvious) Something I sometimes need to be reminded of.
Okay, so far I’ve turned off page caching for the gallery and it seems to work fine. (Both updating when adding new images & clicking thumbnails to view full image)
EDIT: How does the .link function work when clicking on thumbnails? (i.e. what does it contain - is it simply the id of the image to be viewed full-size?)
@MOZx,
the pages aren’t affected by the urlrewriting like in all the website. Instead of we have somethings like:
http://localhost/modx/galerie.html?page=0&scope=1&sortby=user_order&dir=desc&pic=1
http://localhost/modx/assets/modules/epg2/image.php?type=pic_large&id=1 is displayed directly if someone add manually the url and then increment the id number.
Not sure I follow you. Is it that you don’t want them to acces the pics via a manual URL?
SlideShow Mode does have a bug.
@zatoichi,
Hi,
That feature is not supported at this time.
@Braininator,

From memory I believe it should pass the id for the image along with the view mode (full-size).
@Raymond: I simply said that the images can be leeched as the generic URL sample I gave. Then with an extension of Firefox it would be easy to increment automatically the ID of the images and recover all of them. In fact, I would like to prohibit the vision direct and manual of an image by replacing it by another. A generic image like a copyright. Of course, I imagine that that can be diverted but it is as for the attempts at flights per infringement: if the robber is discouraged in the first minutes, often it drops.
Some "serious" website use this kind of gadget. There exist some other process to discourage leecher.
Sorry for the Babelfish translation.
Hi,
is there a possibility to upload more then one image at the same time, i.e. a zipfile containing more then one photo? Another possibility would be to put the pics via ftp on the server and tell epg2 where to look.
I didn’t found s.th. like that, maybe I’ve just overseen it?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Frisco
Hi,
I think that’s on the author’s list of things to do.

IIRC, they’re stored in the database.
