The interface uploads the file into the database. So it must be used (unless there’s some other way of doing it).

On other notes, I finally finished customising the gallery, adding in some extra effects which hopefully I’ll be able to showcase when the site goes live. Any idea what the timeframe is for a new update (just curious smiley ).

I’m having the same problem as well. When I try to add an image to the gallery, nothing is uploaded and a blank (white) thumbnail appears (in the module interface). When I click the thumbnail (in the module interface) the URL for the thumbnail appears instead of the pic.

I have commented out the lines as instructed in earlier posts and it still doesn’t work.

More background. I had installed epg2 locally and uploaded all the images, etc. to the gallery. Then I did a db dump and moved the entire site to the production server. The gallery didn’t work as a simple migration from local to dev until I did a full reinstallation and cleared the galleries. Then, when I imported the data from the local site, they were read by the module and displayed on the pages. I can do anything to the uploaded data, but when I try to add new images to the gallery, I get the error above.

My pages aren’t cached and the gallery is called with [[]]. It works; it just won’t let me add new ones.

          Any insight appreciated.

I am having the same trouble. It goes through the motions of uploading a file, but the images don’t appear in the gallery. If you copy the image url from the source and paste it into the browser, it just prints out the url requested, instead of outputting the image.

Here is the link to my phpinfo(): http://www.prayersforpeace.org/www.mattjones.org/modx/phpinfo.php

And here is a link to a page displaying this behavior. http://www.prayersforpeace.org/www.mattjones.org/modx/index.php?id=40

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Could it be that if the image is too large, the file never gets saved? Also, just out of curiosity, are the files resized on upload and stored in the database that way? Are the files stored in the filesystem somewhere? As the full image, or the resized image?

          Peace,

          Matt

A script would have to be made to do multiple uploads to the database. Perhaps it could scan a given folder for image files and generate an sql file then run it, using all default values for names and such. A dropdown (or scrolling radio button box) could be used to let the admin select which gallery to use, with the option to create a new one.

Almost everything went fine after changing gd2 to gd (module.epg2.tpl) on my local server. When I had to move the site on the web, I had to switch from MySQL 4.1 to 3.23. I exported all the database into 3.23. Several mistakes happened, but the site worked... except epg2. So I reinstalled the module and changed gd2 to gd again. The install program did not create the database tables. I created them using the sql code of the local server in MySQL 3.23. Still not working.

BTW, on the local server, I could not translate anything, even though I changed the text parts of snippet.epg2gallery.tpl.

Try commenting out lines 68-75 inside the module code. The module is trying to load the GD lib but it seems to be failing on different install.

All I still got is a 0. I went through all the solutions, even tried MiniGallery that didn’t work neither.

Here is a nice, nearly finished CSS theme for EPG2.0 to match the MODx Manager Theme. There are no changes to the php code whatso-ever.
