according to the error it says you dont have access to the db:
"mysql_select_db(): Access denied for user: "
Might want to check you db access permission. Also turn off page caching and then use [[PhotoGallery]]

But isn´t it strange when anything else works just fine? I mean - modx runs fine in front- and backend, but:

If I load epg with [[PhotoGallery]], I get the thumbnail overview and any click on one of the thumbnails just reloads the overview-page.

If I load epg with [!PhotoGallery!], epg claims not to have access to the database, it obviously has (to run the admin-interface, assemble the first gallery and so on)...

    I don´t get it smiley

Do you have a clue, where I could start to search for the solution?

I think there might be an issue with EPG when running in [!!] mode. I’ll have to have a look at this or ask the EPG developer to have a look at it.

For now I think you should turn off page caching for the document where [[PhotoGallery]] is used. When caching is on the snippet will only be executed once then nothing else will be executed. Not even the links will work.

I use EPG2 and call it using [!PhotoGallery?galleryid=`4`!] and have page caching set to Yes, and it works fine with friendly URLS with two galleries.

When caching is on the snippet will only be executed once then nothing else will be executed.
I thought, with caching on but using [!snippet!] other page items are cached but what ever the snippet returns isn’t.

Are you saying this isn’t correct, and if so how come if I change the pictures the snippet reflects the changes straight away?

In general if caching is on and you use [[]] then it will not work. However [!!] snippets will work in cached pages.

              Usage:
Calls to the gallery snippet are made using the gallery’s ID (as displayed on the admin panel).
              example:
Where 4 is the id of your photo gallery.
I’m sorry for my beginner question:

The installation of EPG2 shows a success message! I use ModX Version 0.91 PHP 4.4 with GD Support
And the ressources snippets show me Photo Gallery 2 and in the modules i find an entry Photo Gallery but in my DB there is no table with the name : EPG2_galleries
If i want to start the module i only retreive a 0 in the left upper corner

The 4 in the quote above represents the Page ID in the Manager, but how i create a gallery?
I tried to insert Pics in a document and then create another document and entered: [[PhotoGallery?Gallery=’IdOfMyPage’]] and...:

Output: Easy Peasy Gallery 2 not installed!

Did i made something wrong? Have i redo the installation process or didn t i understood the technical part?
Thank you very much for any answer!

                Hi JG,

There is an admin panel of EPG2, run it from Resources -> Manage Modules, click on the left icon of module, select Run.

                I hope this will help.

                regards,

                zi

                  Hello zi,
thank you for the very fast answer.

If i do that, i see only an empty page with a 0 in the upper left corner...

Is the language setting important? My installation set to german... tried setting english, same result.
i’ll do a clean new installation and report the result... the clean new installation did not change the result... anybody an idea?

                  Thanks again
