[PLUGIN] SEO Strict URLs

    Ok, using "?" instead of "&" works perfect... But, I have to look at the Ditto snippet to change this.

      Hi there. This plugin looks really nice, unfortunately I can’t get it to work on my website.Either with the plugin enabled/disabled it seems to make no difference to my furls .
      I tried with 0.7 and 0.7.3 also. I want to have my folders look like this: folder/ instead of folder.html .
      My config section:
      // Config //
$editMenuLinks = 1; // Set to 1 to manipulate menu links. Set to 0 to leave them alone
$makeFolder = 1; // Set to 1 to enforce folders to display as /dir/ and not /dir.html

      I’ve also enabled OnWebPageInit and OnWebPagePrerender system event.
      My .htaccess looks like this:

[...]#I've replaced my real domain name with XXXXX ,but it is well set in my original .htaccess file.

      I am running modx 0.9.5 with:
      furls on ,
      suffixes: .html ,
      Use friendly aliases: yes,
      Use friendly alias path: Yes ,
      Allow duplicate aliases: No,
      Automatically generate alias: Yes.

      The plugin is not disabled, and it is reported in the plugin execution order page as it should be.

      Any tips ? I’m trying to get this working for some time now , but just can’t find what I did wrong sad .

          Well... I thought it was optional and did not add it ... until now . I’ve made a text TV named seoOverride and enabled it for the template I was using.Nothing changed though sad .Also I would like to have 
          $override = 0;
//instead of $override = 1;
          , but I could live with that if it would only work tongue .

            The TV should be optional, did you make sure to remove the <?php and ?> from the beginning and end of the plugin? That has thrown me for a loop more than once.

            I’m planning on fixing up the plugin within the next day or two as I have made a number of improvements from my original modification. The future plan is to integrate some of this into the 0.9.7 core, when it is ready.

                So... here it goes:
                I have a menu structure that,without installing this plugin looks like this:
                item1
|---subItem1
|__|---subSubItem1
|__|---subSubItem2
|---subItem2
|---subItem3

                On hover , all urls for these items appear in the status bar with the .html suffix .When clicked , the opened page also has the .html suffix.

                The next thing I do is I enable the plugin (version 0.7.3), check the needed system events and leave the default config alone.
                Now , as expected , a call to either site.com/item1 or site.com/item1/ will lead to site.com/item1.html.

                I then set: $makeFolder = 1; and save the snippet.
                The menu in my site looks exactly the same as before...nothing changed ( and I have $editMenuLinks = 1; from the default config).However , now, when clicking on the link from my menu that says: site.com/item1.html , I will get to the page that has the following URL: site.com/item1/ .Trying to load site.com/item1 also gets me to site.com/item1/ . BUT the menu (wayfinder call,uncached,whole site uncached actually) still references the page as: site.com/item1.html .

                After setting: $editMenuLinks = 0; in the config file ... the menu remains the same.I enabled it (set it to 1) , and added the TV with the drop menu thing. I enabled it for my template , and gave it all 4 default values and tested the effect of each one,and nothing changed in the menu for me[edit: but it does change the URL in the adress bar of the page I’m viewing].

                So it seems the ’rewrite links’ feature doesn’t quite work for me.
                I have modx 0.9.5 running on a server that has php 4.4.x and mysql 4.x (can’t be bothered to actually check for the exact versions,but it has the minimum modx requires ).Also ,the config for the furls is the same as posted a while back.

                  In order to prevent rewriting where it should not occur, links will only be rewritten if they are contained within href="" (must have double quotes at the moment).

                    and the links look like this:
                    http://www.xxxxx.com/
                    http://www.xxxxx.com/news.html
                    The first link is not a container (folder) but the second one is.

                    If you want a live example , look at pixelchutes’s website (sorry to use you as an example tongue ): http://www.pixelchutes.com/
                    Hover in the menu over the portofolio link.You’ll see that it points to:
                    http://www.pixelchutes.com/portfolio ,but when you click it,the page that you arrive at is this:
                    http://www.pixelchutes.com/portfolio/ .He doesn’t use the .html suffix on his links but the site has the same behaviour that I am experiencing (as in: menu link points to page A , page A redirects to page A/ , or, in my case: menu link points to page A.html , and page A.html redirects to page A/ ).
                    Btw, that’s a really nice portofolio you got there pixelchutes wink .

                      Thanks for testing that out Geo88. I have fixed the issue, you should now be able to use it with $makeFolders = 1 and $override = 0.

                      I have also updated the code so that it does not need to perform any additional MySQL queries, except for 1 query to get all relevant TV’s if override is enabled. The version has been updated to: 0.8.0. laugh
