Looks lovely, and interesting to see the Partner program and certification take shape. Minor irritant is the ungrammatical use of the word ’Premiere’ in several places - once a copy-editor, always a copy-editor.

In ’all change is bad’ mode - the logo is a little impenetrable, but I guess you’re looking to move away from the box metaphor. The colour gradients I can live with - for some reason designers get really excited by them (in my last commissioning role I went through a stage of seeing pitch after pitch from agencies that all included a rainbow gradient, but c’est la vie). Speaking of designers, you might want to add a section expressly for them in that top bar (or at least change ’Site builders’ for ’Designers’).

Trivial point, but your solution stories are a little old now, and would be much more effective as video.

Anyhoo. Looks very impressive, the business changes sound promising, and it looks like you’re sorting some of the issues with finding things on this blessed forum. Good stuff, guys. Now to wade through the 4,500+ lines of CSS to work out how you applied that design to the Revo chassis. wink

        And more thing,
MODx needs to embrace the END-USER tighter.
That’s how the WP and J folks do.
If the demand so high, you don’t even need to worry about how you should attract the developers.
They’ll come massively without your invitation.

In another word, you might want to show the visitor about who OWNS the website, not who BUILT it.
eg: "NASA/White House/Disney/IBM/Nokia uses MODx ..." will make MODx on a magazine’s front page.
That’s how the SS and D folks do.
So it means, you need to think to replace those "Solution Stories" with a kind of "User Testimonial".
Please mark down the user as the end-user, not the developer-user.
        Show their smiles.
Perhaps it also means that you need to give a space to a regular update of a front-page news category.

MODx is great, but knowing how to use it well makes it perfect!

There will be a lot said about the branding decisions next week. Change is always hard, but in this case it really was necessary. The short version, as a pure-play Open Source project, having a shockingly similar logo to another organization was passable (interesting folks didn’t like that logo then either ... that whole change thing wink ). When dollars could potentially be involved, it’s the right thing to do to make a change.

The reason we’re in beta is to catch little things here and there and your feedback is much appreciated!

Very classy, professional look. I love it.

Once issue: I think it was designed from the perspective of developers and contributors. I take the approach of being an end-user who for the sake of example, had the misfortune of having a modx-based site dumped on my lap and I know **nothing** about modx or what it is, and need to make updates on the site. The new MODX website should have a very clear path to how to manage the site from an end-user’s perspective, as a prominent, bold link, and written in the approach of a ’for dummies’ guide. I find myself all too often having to create supplemental notes for my clients on step-by-step procedures for the most basic editing tasks.

On to what I love the most:

Interesting background on the logo issue.

I like the new site, but there is a lot going on with the page and the new logo gets a little lost in my opinion.

There has always been a little confusion with the name. Is it modx, MODx or MODX? It keeps changing. Now it seems there is a new logo again? Consistent branding is an issue with different viewpoints out there. But there are a ton of sites and archived search results that show the familiar box logo. I have seen this logo on a bunch of sites and always know they were made with MODx, or is it MODX now?

Maybe I am sensitive here. The last daily newspaper I worked at changed its name not once but twice while I worked there. In the end it was always confusing for the staff and the readers...
