It should allow you to change the extension to nothing. How is it preventing this?

Sorry to bump but just wondering is there a definitive solution for this?
      (having no suffix)

I’d also like friendly urls with no suffix

The same as it ever was, remove the extension from the Content Type.

Is the correct/normal way of getting hxxp://domain.com/contact/ to work to change the content type extension .html to /?

It feels wrong to adjust the content type to something it’s not simply because it fixed something else. Does doing this have any side-effects? What relies on these context types?

It is wrong in this case; just make it a Container and it gets the container_suffix if a Resource has a Content Type with a mime type of text/html. The default container_suffix is /.

Thanks, that worked too. Its still a little wrong because now I’m making every page a container even tho theyre really just pages.
I guess there’s less side-effects to this(?) so I’ll use it. wink

You can certainly change the HTML Content Type extension to / if you want this for every Resource in your site, regardless if it acts like a folder. The difference is containers will 301 redirect requests without the container_suffix to the value with the container_suffix; non-containers will not work that way if you change the HTML Content Type extension. Requests to these will have to include the / or users will get a 404.

I cannot remove the extension from the HTML file type.

Revo indicates the file extension field is required
by highlighting it in red and disabling saving.

Is it necessary to hack into the MySQL DB to change this?

                  Thanks.

I think that was a bug in an older version of Revolution that has since been addressed.

I've read every comment in this thread and I'm still not sure how to remove suffixes site wide.

When you say "remove the extension from the content type" does that mean delete it from the content types in the Systems Settings?

That seems like a drastic option.
