    Thanks Ryan and Sean!

I am very sorry that for my first post, I needed someone to share information that was in the post before me! :-P

Yes, the documented solution to replace libmysql.dll - using the file you linked to - fixed this perfectly.

Now, on to the fun stuff - taking a look around in there! Thank you both and congratulations, again!

Not sure specifically, but it’s likely going to be a similar issue; make sure you’re using mysql client libraries that are proven compatible with the version of PHP/MySQL you are using.

I updated Mysql now apache seems to be fine but the installation still does not work correctly.

In the last page of installtion after I press ’Install’ I get a blank screen. Looking in the database the modx tables are created. I can get to the manager login page but most of the text string are missing, looks to me like localization was not set or something. Entering the admin credentials set during installation returns with a ’login_cannot_locate_account’ message and I cannot get into the manager.

The core/cache/logs/install.config.[date] reports the following errors:

That looks like it might be a permission problem with your connectors folder.

modx2beta/ has to be writable by the PHP process; are using the Advanced package? I recommend using the Traditional unless you have a compelling reason (which you can describe logically) for using the Advanced...

Updated mysql? What do you mean? Can you be more specific? There’s a lot that goes into compiling and preparing PHP for using with specific versions of MySQL.

This means the install could not insert the database records. I believe this may still be a problem with your PHP/MySQL configuration.

                      Solved.

Php’s memory_limit was set to 16M by default, changing that did the trick.

Thanks everyone and sorry for your trouble.
