    Hello again,

I am wanting to be a bit daring and try out the latest alpha release of 0.9.7 but I am having a few problems. I have tried tortoise SVN and also Smart SVN. With tortoise I cannot connect as it asks for a username and password and Smart allows me to connect but I see no way of obtaining the files.

    Could someone perhaps help?

    Many thanks.

It is possible that you have the wrong address to checkout 0.9.7 try this:

Thats the address I have been using. But as I say when I choose to import (assuming I use this function as I have never used SVN before) it asks me firstly for the url and then for a username and password.

            Ahh,

Its alright, I should have used export as apposed to import. I was a little naive to think import meant from server to local and export from local to server as apposed to the other way round.

Is there any sort of documentation so far for steps people have made to get it working dependant on their enviroment?

I have placed it on the server and using the url to the main dir I get a 503. Using the url to look in the setup directory I simply get a blank page.

Yup as far as using alpha stuff goes I may be a bit of a bigginer but I am one for learning smiley

Yes, sorry; the trac system had to be taken down, but the content we had is now available here:

                http://svn.modxcms.com/docs/display/MODx097/Development+and+Testing+Notes

I’ll try and find posts that reference the old docs and update the old links...

                  Hello Jason,

Thanks for that smiley Proved to be useful. But I did still encounter the blank page on setup after I executed the php command from shell and checked the output from this process.

Just to check with you, are any folders or files required to be set to certain access levels?

I noticed the two assets direcotries one within setup and the other within the main directory. Any thoughts are welcomed.

                  Regards,

                  Tom.

There won’t be any content on install at all. There is nothing but the manager. Login to the manager at /manager and make a template and create a document.

                    Cheers,

                    Jay

                      Hey Jay,

Thanks for getting back to me. What I meant was that per the doumentation the next step after executing "php transport.core.php" was to go to "http://domain.tld/directory/setup/" which I did (obviously as per my setup) but the setup page is completely blank. There are no options to choose and if using /manager/ instead of /setup/ I still get a 503, on top of which there was steps taken meaning there are still no tables or entries within the database.

                      Regards,

                      Tom.
