Firefox 4 Beta 1 is out. Your thoughts?

    I just grabbed a copy of the new Firefox 4. Although it’s just a testing software in its early stage, I must say It won me back from Chrome. It surely owes a lot of its UI to the Google browser, but It just feels right and it was about time the MOZ guys guys did something to at least slow the loosing trend they were facing against the Google machine. The speed is great and the Tabs on top is the way to go. Once users are able to sync their data with other devices and web accounts, I think FF will be back on the map. Don’t get me wrong, I love Chrome and I think FF and Chrome are the browsers of the future, but I can’t thank FF enough for always being web-friendly.

    What do ya’ll think?

      I have just installed Firefox 4, it looks great but I have to wait until is compatible with Firebug and the Web Developer Toolbar.

        Yes, and I do miss my It’s All Text, too! Other than that, there are a few CSS differences that can be embarrassing when viewed with the older version, and the resize widget for textareas was a nuisance to track down how to disable. But it is noticeably faster.

          Indeed and I too will be waiting for the webdeveloper plugin. But I can wait, this is still Beta 1

                Right on!

                At least Firefox works very hard to remain future-relevant. Geolocation, CSS3 support, HTML 5 support, WebM video format support are what I think makes FF the leader in the browser world. No disrespect for Opera and Safari

                  I just got the beta to try out. I use Opera for most browsing, but I use Firefox for all of my MODx managers and all that admin kind of stuff, partly just to keep it all separate, and partly because Firefox is a tad bit more supported across the web.

                  The new beta looks slick for sure, but it’s definitely owing a lot to Opera and Chrome like others have said.

                  We’ll see how it goes, but I’m liking what I see so far. That said, I’ll probably always be an Opera fan at heart. smiley
                    I'm learning more about MODx all the time and loving it.

                      Except that Opera has it all already. Plus it’s fast.
