          Except that I still see the word "go" on the search graphic file...

          I had this problem and couldn’t get it to work within the CSS, I ended up altering the Snippet

          // establish form
          if (($validSearch && ($showSearchWithResults)) || $showSearchWithResults){
            $SearchForm .= '<form class="FSF_form" action="'.$searchAction.'" method="post">';
            $SearchForm .= ($xhtmlStrict)? '<fieldset><legend>Search</legend>' : '' ;
            // decide what goes in search box
            $searchBoxVal = ($searchString == '' && $boxText != '')? $boxText : $searchString ;
            $SearchForm .= '<input class="FSF_input" type="text" name="search" value="'.$searchBoxVal.'"  ';
            $SearchForm .= ($boxText)? 'onfocus="this.value=(this.value==\''.$boxText.'\')? \'\' : this.value ;" />' : '/>';
            $SearchForm .= '<input class="FSF_submit" type="image" src="http://www.mysite.com/assets/site/template/search.gif" name="sub" value="Sumbit" alt="Submit"/>';
            $SearchForm .= ($xhtmlStrict)? '</fieldset>' : '';
            $SearchForm .= '</form>'.$newline;
          }

          Make sure you change the followng line to match your site
          src="http://www.mysite.com/assets/site/template/search.gif" name="sub" value="Sumbit" alt="Submit"/>;

          My search box lives inside a DIV called search, so my CSS looks like this

          #search{
          	margin-left: -1px;
          	padding-top: 10px;
          	Padding-left: 0px;
          	width: 225px;
          	color: #777;
          }
          #search fieldset{
          	margin-left: 2px;
          	border:0 solid;	/* Override defualt Fieldset style, solid is requied for Opera */
          	Padding-bottom: 5px;
          }
          .FSF_submit{
          	margin-left: 5px;
          	vertical-align: -23%;

          Cheers.

              UPDATE: I have updated the Search snippet to fix a IE specific bug. You can either download the snippet here or in the new zip attached to the first post.

                I simply edited the snippet and removed ’go’ in the display grin

                  Here’s my snippet tag and CSS for the stock version of FlexSearchform when only showing a simple search field:

                  [[FlexSearchForm?FSF_landing=4&FSF_showResults=0]]

                  #banner .FSF_intro {
                      display:none;
                      }
                  #banner .FSF_form fieldset {
                      border:none;
                      }
                  #banner .FSF_form legend {
                      display:none;
                      }
                  #banner .FSF_form {
                      float:right;
                      margin-top:49px;
                      margin-right:10px;
                      }
                  #banner .FSF_submit {
                      display:none;
                      }
                  #banner .FSF_resultsIntroFailure {
                      display:none;
                      }

                      I always keep an unused copy of the original download just for getting the original files from!
