Sounds great to me, if we can have maybe 5-10 free template build originally from MODx, and the license allow the use of the template for free unger GPL maybe, then it will attract more users. The only concern will be to make sure that those templates are really2 good
Not a programmer, but maybe our users that are designer can help participating in promoting MODx.
Anybody agree with me? I can see Banzai already strt designing his own template for this contest
I’ve been saying this time and again but I will build a few templates for MODx, now that I am almost finished with my two clients and my blog’s redesign, I’ll chip in a few hours to do just that...
As far as a contest is concerned, we could do it smart, say combine it with the next release, so that we can have the best templates distributed with the new MODx release... could even become a reccurring event, if it works

No, we are working on a template installer.
Wow! very good Idea!
Ok, I’m really lost now.
I followed the instructions the best I could.
The only problem is that whenever I try to use search, it just shows me the home page and doesn’t display any search results.
Also, whenever I use the [[UserComments]] snippet, it doesn’t show the user comment on the page. It just refreshes the same page over again.
What am I doing wrong?
I think you neeed set the result page when you call FlexSearchForm snippet
[[FlexSearchForm?FSF_landing=int]]
where
int is the page id number of the page you want your results on
Thanks! I can almost sleep! I got the user comments working great (Although tomorrow I’ll have to figure out how to only allow registered users to post).
However, something strange is happening with my search.
I got my site to display the results in the proper search results page....
but when I make another search query from the search results page itself with a new search term...
I get the old search results page (with the old searched ’keyword’) popping up again.
Additionally, when I use the search box found in the content area on the search results page itself, I get sent back to my home page.
I’m using spider-friendly URLs.
Is this some kind of caching issue?

Make sure all of your FlexSearchForm snippets are called with the uncached form [!...!]
If you have a search input in your template, and it is displayed on your search result page, for the snippet call on that page use &FSF_showForm=`0`
This is what I have in my template:
<div id="search">
<div id="search_area">
[!Search? &FSF_showResults=`0` &FSF_landing=`7`!]
But for some reason, once I do a search, every other search just keeps showing the old search term I used?!
