Do you have an additional folder inside of hopeagaintesting?
Also did you turn off furl before backup and are your .htaccess in there?
*FRIENDLY URLS
Here’s a list of all subfolders inside /mamp/hotdocs/hopeagaintesting:
actions, templates, processors, site, snippets, plugins, modules, media, js, includes, import, images, flash, frames, files, exports, docs, and cache.
I also have 3 files in the hopeagain folder: index.html, index.php, and ht.access.
I did not turn-off FURL’s...how would I do that?
Do I need to do this and then download another back-up and load that into the /hotdocs/hopeagaintesting folder?
Right now you have teached yourself
- How to install a local web server
- How to import a database
- How to edit code in files
But you lack fundamental knowledge of MODx
I would NOW recommend you to:
1. Create a new database and a new folder on your local web server
2. Download MODx 1.0.2
3. Install it by using this tutorial:
http://codingpad.maryspad.com/beginner-tutorials/
Whoa...before I get into doing that, I’d like to know that I’ve done things correctly thus far. I’ve followed the instructions so far but have run into this problem. Have I done incorrectly to make this not work? I’d like to get this fixed before I mess-up the next step.
If you download and install MODx 0963 first AS MENTIONED in the tutorial, and then upgrade to 1.0.2 you will get basic and required knowledge.
Then come back to this thread and re-read the answers! We have covered everything already.
That’s cool...I’m in the process of doing that right now...it’s very insightful!
I’ll let you know if I have more questions after going through the tutorial.
I appreciate all of your help!
