Indeed, speechless. Very nice design and for Designers and Developers a welcome support to promote Modx.

Found a small bug in the Quick Edit module. If users click the "help" item under GO the url = http://modxcms.com/quickedit.html

And that’s a 404 in the new site. maybe a redirect huh

Otherwise we are very very pleased with the progress and future of Modx.

A french user who was navigating the website reported a js behaviour who don’t degrade gracefully:

I’m surfing by default without javascript activated (only for my favorites websites). On the new MODx website, i feel that i’ve come back in mid 90’s where somes websites forced to activate javascript on basic link.

All attributes href who’s value ="#" and event onclick attributed to them can’t be accessed.
The feedback don’t appear and it’s impossible to register.

I’m not sure but i think that the feedback button is linked with getsatisfaction and work exclusively with js. But i’m not so sure about the registration.

i think it looks amazing, massively cleaner and clearer and very easy to use. This really will help "sell" modx. Personally i would have liked smaller font sizes as it does look a bit silly in places, but you can`t please everyone, all the time

Nice to see the new brand take. Not fond of the Skype in your face style but such things are relative.

Okay, I went through the first few pages of this and the other topic and have to say I almost feel bad
for disturbing all the praises with my coming ctricism however, I’ve always been rather a person of
constructive feedback than random ’HipHip horrays’. lipsrsealed

Don’t expect a rant, because I basically like the clean look and the layout is nice as well.
And those are even the first you recognize (provided you use a B/W screen.)
                    My improvement suggestions are:

                    - The colours. I love black and green, they are my favourite colours (I know, black actually isn’t a colour but w/e).
However, green+purple just doesn’t fit, well at least not to me. It might be a matter of taste and I see where you’re coming from (logo colours),
but seriously, they make me want to switch to greyscale.

                    - It’s slow undecided The former site wasn’t on the same design level, but much faster.
Okay, it’s not a disaster a lá MySpace, yet the bloatism could be decreased.

                    - One way could be getting rid of the green area at the bottom. It’s nice info, but IMHO it better fits into a separate page.
Or add an option to hide/show toggle it. Like they have it on DeviantArt for instance.

                    - It’s nice that MODx doesn’t use obstrusive ’DONATE NOW’, ’SWITCH TO PREMIUM’ etc. popups, gifs or similar.
However, a tad bit more of reminding might be helpful. Some ppl just forget about donating, until they see the button.
It’s good that we aren’t pestered with it, but we also shouldn’t have to search for it.
My suggestion for that, just use the same style as the ’GO’ button for the ’Donate’ button.

                    - While the download section for extras is way better than on many other CMS sites,
it could be even improved by adding screenshots (for templates) and some certification line.
I am new here and don’t know how deeply tested they are and if admins verified them, but it might be helpful
to have some type of ’recommended’ or ’verified’ sign for those that are known to be reliable.

                    - Great job on the showcases section. Best I’ve seen so far on a CMS homepage.
Only down there is that it takes me back to page 1 each time I vote on page 2. Currently indeed not a big issue,
but we all hope MODx will grow and soon have 20, 30 or 100 pages of showcases. That would be great however, a forced
jump-back-to-first-page function will most likely have a quite demotivating influence on voters then.
Btw, I also shouldn’t be able to vote more than once. tongue The likelihood of that being abused increases with the growth of MODx attention.

                    - It would be nice, if signing into the forum automatically signed me into the main page as well. (Or/And vice versa)
Alternatively only one sign in panel.

That’s it I think. Don’t read it as a rant or even an offence, I honestly think you’re doing a great job.
They are just suggestions and as such you can either consider them or simply ignore them. smiley

This is what you see when you click on an installable component for WordPress at their site:

I don’t like the look much, but I *really* like the optional tabs for screenshots, installation, statistics, other notes, etc.
